South Florida model and native Daniella Beckerman (@daniellabeckerman) is carving an exciting future. We get the inside scoop on her career and favorite moments.

How did you get your start?

When I was a sophomore in high school, my mom drove me to an open casting call for Wilhelmina in Miami. A great agent there booked me in L.A. for a couple of years. I was between L.A. and Florida throughout the rest of high school. When I graduated, I could move and support myself full-time in California.

What has been your biggest pinch-me moment so far?

When I traveled to these beautiful islands off of the coast of Puerto Rico for one of my first photo shoots. The water was so gorgeous I thought I was dreaming! I couldn’t believe this was my job. I was able to bring my mom, so it was an amazing experience for everyone.

What is one beauty ritual you follow every day?

Always stay hydrated! I focus on internal skincare daily by drinking lemon water during the day, probiotics and detox tea at night.

What’s one thing people may not know about you?

Two organizations are very close to my heart: Easy Day Foundation—a grantmaking, nonprofit organization committed to assisting Veterans through funding and support—and Furry Friends Jupiter, the only public-facing animal shelter in northern Palm Beach County that rescues, rehabilitates and re-homes animals in the community.

What advice would you give to your teenage self?

It’s OK to be different and give myself more grace. Like most youth, I was extremely shy. However, I now realize that I learned so much about the world from thinking inwardly, which was a strength. Eventually, I grew out of my shell!
