Danny Jelaca's new location is part hair salon, part spa and completely stunning.
“When people come into my salon, I want to make them feel beautiful from the inside out,” says Danny Jelaca, pictured here in his Miami Beach Marina salon. “I call it ‘hairapy.’”
“I just finished styling Miranda Kerr,” says Danny Jelaca, Miami’s hairstylist to the stars. “She’s so fabulous.” But styling a supermodel is just another day at work for Jelaca, who has been teasing the tresses of A-listers for more than two decades. “My first celebrity client was Kelly Preston in 1997. I remember when John Travolta called to chat with her while she was in my chair. It was such a surreal moment!” Fast-forward to today and Jelaca works with models like Winnie Harlow, Karolína Kurková and Adriana Lima daily. “I owe my love for boxing to Adriana. She convinced me to go to 5th St. Gym, and now we both box there. She’s amazing.”
But when you have the who’s who of Hollywood as your clientele, you need a facility that’s equally top notch. Jelaca opened his first eponymous eight-chair salon in 2012. “It was a great location, but I needed something bigger,” he explains. After a year and a half of careful development and extreme attention to detail, Jelaca unveiled his new salon right on the Miami Beach Marina.
The 14-chair salon mimics his previous location in terms of design (“It’s still pristine, white and beautiful,” he says) but with some majorly luxe features. “We have all LED lighting, an OPI nail salon and a private VIP room for celebrities,” says Jelaca. “We took everything from my last salon and made it better.”
Treatments include cuts, color, blow-dries and extensions, but Jelaca reassures that “anything the client wants, the client gets.” Spray tans, lash extensions, microblading, micro-scalp pigmentation, permanent makeup and, yes, even medispa treatments done by an in-house doctor. “We truly want to be a one-stop shop,” says Jelaca.
