As party revelers, art collectors and A-listers decamped in Miami for Art Week, the Design District became the uncontested culture hub for brand launches, pop-ups and Champagne-filled celebrations. From Gigi Hadid’s latest project with Miu Miu to the Cartier centennial of the Trinity collection, here are the best fêtes that took place in the Miami Design District.
MIU MIU SELECT FEATURING GIGI HADID

Gigi Hadid is the latest creative collaborator for Miu Miu Select, a project by the Italian designer that invites friends of the label to curate a collection of their favorite pieces (past participants include Chloë Sevigny and Emily Ratajkowski, for example).To celebrate Gigi Hadid’s sartorial edit in Miami, Miu Miu hosted a bash at their boutique to bring her collection to life, surrounded by starlets like Camila Cabello, Kristen Noel Crawley, and Paloma Elsesser. Gigi, of course, was head-to-toe in Miu Miu, a brand she describes as “sweet but hardcore.”
CARTIER’S 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF TRINITY COLLECTION

Cartier went all out for the 100th anniversary of its Trinity collection with an immersive pop-up, showcasing its history through multilevel experiential and multi-sensory rooms from larger-than-life Trinity rings to kinetic displays and an exhibition of archive pieces. Janelle Monae traded her microphone for a DJ deck. She spun in front of notable guests like Nicholas Chavez, Jonathan “JD” Daviss, Pritika Swarup, Miami Heat players Jaime Jaquez Jr. and Kevin Love, among others, complete with scarlet-clad Cartier Bellboys, of course.
MAISON MARGIELA X KOZO

Maison Margiela teamed up with Brooklyn-based tattoo artist Kozo for a cocktail party to celebrate the launch of their exclusive capsule with one-of-a-kind pieces. Kozo is known for his micro-realistic colored tattoos juxtaposing classical art with modern pop culture references. In this unique collection, 18 designs were customized on the brand’s “White Icons,” like Tabi boots, Replica sneakers, and a trio of handbag styles. Kozo and the Margiela family were joined by Saint JHN, Selah Marley, actor Rickey Thompson, artists Miles Greenberg and Brittany Byrd, creatives Sami Miro, Mike Tommasiello and more.
FENDI OPENS NEW BOUTIQUE

Fendi opened the doors to its new digs in Design District with a cocktail celebration joined by celebrity friends of the brand like Ella Hunt, Ella Rubin, Victor Cruz and Olivia Ponton. Its striking façade, inspired by Roman architecture, features grand arches and custom three-dimensional glass bricks. Take a look inside the new boutique here.
OFF-WHITE X PARIS HILINSKI COLLECTION LAUNCH

21-year-old professional golfer Paris Hilinski co-designed a golf capsule with Off-White called “ALL IN ONE,” which debuted in Miami with a cocktail celebration and exclusive dinner. The capsule was three years in the making and began as an Instagram DM conversation with Virgil Abloh himself, the visionary designer who was drawn to Hilinski’s unique blend of streetwear and luxury on the golf course. Hilinski’s collaboration with Off-White features apparel and gadgets, which was celebrated in the presence of the Earle sisters, Braxton Berrios, Stephen and Erica Malbon and more.
BREITLING LAUNCHES CARIBBEAN SPECIAL EDITION

For its 140th Anniversary, Breitling debuted the latest collection in their storied series of Caribbean special editions: the Super Chronomat B01 44 and Chronomat Automatic 36 Caribbean Editions. The brand celebrated the release of these sea blue timepieces with a private cocktail reception surrounded by collectors, friends of the brand, and notables such as actress Christa Allen, creators Stephanie Hill, Ria Michelle, Emilie Sobel, and more.
LVMH CULTURE HOUSE

LVMH Culture House hosted a five-day residency curated by Corey Smith, the luxury conglomerate’s Head of DE&I. Public events throughout the week included an art gallery, panel discussions with leaders from the group’s premiere maisons like Repossi, Volcán de Mi Tierra, and Maison Francis Kurkdjian, and an appearance from rapper Slick Rick in celebration of the 25th anniversary of his album “The Art of Storytelling.”
GUCCI BOULE DE NEIGE

Gucci took over Sweet Bird North Plaza with one of the most photographed installations of Miami Art Week: an illuminated Boule De Neige, encasing an artistic “storybook” that threads together the enchanting legacy of Gucci around the world in the form of illuminated, small-scale landmarks.
