With its beautiful beaches and lush landscapes, there is truly no better place to appreciate Mother Earth than the city of Miami. To celebrate Earth Day on Friday, April 22, Miami is hosting plenty of events all weekend long that will make you want to thank the earth that birthed you.

What’s a better way to celebrate Earth Day then to be surrounded by the beautiful nature the Miami Beach Botanical Gardens has to offer. On April 21, at 6 p.m., head over to the Botanical Gardens for some family friendly fun. Kick off your celebration with some gentle yoga, and get educated on Miami Beach sustainability initiatives and the Florida Bird Rescue. Don't forget to snag your free bag of organic compost and sample the succulent honey from the garden’s hives. After all the fun, be sure to try some of the free vegetarian samples from Pura Vida Miami and wind down with a new signature cocktail from the Botanical Bar.

On April 22, Heath In The Hood is hosting a day of wellness and gardening to help mother earth regenerate and thrive for future generations. Health In The Hood prioritizes urban farming, food distribution and wellness programs, in hopes to create healthier communities one garden at a time. At the event, join fitness mogul Rebecca Peri in the gardens as she teaches how to improve your health and detox your environment. This free event begins at 9 a.m. and runs till 11 a.m.

Local Miami startups Motto and Evolve has put together a special wellness event to celebrate Earth Day on April 21. Join Kata (@miamiyogagirl) for a Vinyasa flow starting at 6 p.m. Afterwards enjoy a meditative experience known as sound bath’s with yogi, Michelle Berlin to become what she calls, “sound stoned”. In addition to yoga and sound therapy, Chelsea Sarnecki is hosting a loving kindness meditation for additional relaxation. After all of the sessions guests will be able to mingle, enjoy some light bites, and watch the sunset on the Neon Beach rooftop. Tickets to this event are still available online for $15.

Head over to Brickell City Centre as they continue their celebration of Earth Month. From April 21 to 23, the BCC will be hosting activities from sustainable shopping to wellness classes and kids activities. Be sure to stop by the happy hour on April 21 with Dr. Smood, the Miami cafe committed to offering clean, nutritious and flavorful everyday essentials to the world. Other weekend activities vary from wellness classes, sunrise yoga and a zero waste cooking class. These events are free, however some classes do require a RSVP.

Green Monkey Yoga Studio has partnered with Urbanica Hotels for a speical night of yoga, live music and interactive art all for earth on April 22. The Earth Day themed yoga class runs from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Afterwards, guests will cross the street and head over to the Urbanica Hotel rooftop where local band, The Lotus Collective, will be playing jazzy funk music. Guests will be able to enjoy music and a full bar plus menu for a night of socializing and connecting. Best of all, the night will be funding a massive Miami Beach cleanup. The festival will be hosting a wide variety of activities, all in an effort to raise money for the Aguacate Sanctuary Of Love Farm And Animal Rescue. Enjoy live music throughout the duration of the festival, participate in yoga and meditation classes, or just check out the plenty of sustainable vendors throughout Earth Love Festival.
