Recently, Besu announced Julie Griggs and Danielle Dietzek, the dynamic team of the mobile game Fourplay, as the 2022 "You Glow Girl" grant winners. The grant, which is now in its second year, helps Besu fulfill her dedication to enabling other female founders like herself to flourish and advance professionally and personally.
More than 1,340 enthusiastic applicants submitted applications for the 2022 scholarship, a notable increase over the 320 applicants who submitted applications for the prize's debut in 2021. The applicants came from various sectors, including publishing, the visual arts, farming, food and beverage, skincare and cosmetics, fashion, health and fitness, home goods, and pet items. Twenty-five semi-finalists were chosen from the pool of applicants by the selection committee, and they were requested to upload videos describing themselves and their companies. The top ten then took part in online interviews with Besu and the "You Glow Girl" crew.
The winners were announced following the exhaustive, arduous six-month assessment process: Julie Griggs and Danielle Dietzek, the founders of Fourplay. It was a challenging decision, but in the end, Besu was attracted to their unique ideas and the boss chicks behind the brand.
Griggs and Dietzek, two single healthcare professionals working in New York City, are changing how singles interact socially. They wanted to go out and have fun together while also dipping their toes in the New York City dating scene because they didn't have much free time. The response? With the help of the social networking software Fourplay, singles can "match" with other couples by joining forces with a friend. It's a much safer, less embarrassing, and more thrilling way to date. The problematic dating culture that deprives singles of enjoyment and authentic chances to fall in love is being fixed by Fourplay. Young professionals enjoy multitasking, and Fourplay enables them to do so without the stress and strain of conventional dating applications. With the "You Glow Girl" award, Fourplay is currently accessible in New York City. It will soon be available in additional cities.
The award includes $10,000 to assist their business in achieving higher success and a year's worth of Eat Me Guilt Free items to keep them motivated. The winners will also have access to a virtual mind, body, and spirit package that includes a Calm or Headspace subscription for mindfulness training and a monthly check-in with mental health specialist Gabriela Reyes, MFT of @mindful.gee, and a ClassPass subscription. Griggs and Dietzek will also receive a two-part immersive coaching and mentorship experience with Besu. This will include a two-day retreat to Eat Me Guilt Free's headquarters in Miami, Florida, where the group will concentrate on strategic planning and goal-setting. There will also be opportunities for the group to network with other experts in Besu's network. Besu will visit the Fourplay headquarters in part two for in-depth one-on-one training.
"We are honored to name Julie Griggs, and Danielle Dietzek, the vibrant founders of 'Fourplay,' the winners of the 2022 'You Glow Girl' Grant," said Besu. "When we started planning the 2022 iteration of the grant, we knew we wanted it to be bigger and better than ever. What we didn't know at the time was that this notion would even apply to our winner selection. For the first time, we have not one but two brilliant female grand prize winners."
To fulfill the meaning of empowerment and give female entrepreneurs like herself the support and resources they need, Besu established the "You Glow Girl" Grant in 2021. Besu, a mompreneur who started creating Eat Me Guilt Free snacks in her kitchen in 2013, is a qualified nurse and certified sports nutritionist. She has direct knowledge of the challenges and obstacles that prevent female entrepreneurs from flourishing. Besu was aware of the numerous pivotal times during her path as a female entrepreneur where she would have benefited from direction and financial support. She then realized she wanted to assist other female entrepreneurs with the identical issues she had encountered.
With the "You Glow Girl" funding initiative, Besu and the Eat Me Guilt Free team is happy to uphold their long-standing commitment to helping female businesses. In 2023, Besu intends to broaden the curriculum, and some exciting surprises are already in the works.
