Passion and compassion often go hand in hand, as many individuals hold a special place in their heart for a community service or charity of choice. Emil and Rada Shakov, owners and founders of the highly applauded The Youth Fountain cosmetic and medical facility, are well known without a doubt for their exceptional services and love for their patients, but their passion stretches well beyond that of their clients, as the world famous Doctors seek to make an impact both within, and outside of their business.
Parents to their own wonderful children, it’s no surprise that the Shakov’s have a personal passion for children in general, especially children in need. As parents, Doctor Emil and Rada Shakov have a deep compassion for parents and children that are fighting through illnesses, hunger, and other tough times, to which they have made it a priority to always give back to those in need.
I am very passionate about children.” Rada Shakov states. “I donate monthly to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and monthly to a local charity providing food to kids.”
St Jude’s Children’s Hospital, is the world’s leading research hospital in studying, treating, and defeating children’s cancers and other life-threatening diseases. As monthly donors, the Shakovs show their support for the hospital’s research, the hospital’s mission, and the hospital’s young patients.
“Becoming a mother has been the biggest blessing for me.” Rada Shakov states. “Children should never suffer or hurt and that is why these charities hold a special place in my heart.”
Furthermore, Doctor’s Emil and Rada Shakov show love and support for their community by doing their best to shop locally to support small businesses, as well as donating to their local food pantry. A charity of which they one day hope to involve their own children in support of the cause.
“It’s scary to think that a child may be going hungry, especially in my community.” Explains Rada Shakov. “Therefore, donating to the food pantry is important to me. Eventually as my kids get older, we are going to volunteer in food shelters. It’s important to build humility and gratitude in children.”
While maintaining their consistent involvement with the St. Jude Children’s Hospital and local food charities, the Shakov’s love for children does not stop there. The Youth Fountain has and continues to donate to several charities, including Waylon’s Southern Thunder Ranch, an organization which helps families that have lost a child. The Youth Fountain has also contributed to the construction of Challenger Place, a playground for children of all abilities, as well as The Boys and Girls Club of Toms River.
“For me, anything that involves children will always have a special place in my heart. These charities were brought to my attention by my patients whose connection and personal story really moved me.“ Rada Shakov.
With such a large heart for children in need, the Shakov’s also hold a special place in their heart for our country’s veterans, particularly those who have been injured or wounded in combat. As incredibly strong advocates for our country’s veteran’s, Emil and Rada Shakov also make regular donations to charities that support our country’s veterans, such as the Wounded Warriors Project, Disabled Veterans National Foundation, and Paralyzed Veterans of America.
“I truly admire the men and women who sacrifice everything to serve in the armed forces.” Emil Shakov states. “I feel we owe these men and women a huge debt of gratitude. I am especially passionate about our wounded veterans and try to help with donations as best I can.”
Known as one of The Youth Fountain’s dynamic founder’s and surgeons, Emil Shakov also uses his skillset to give back to the community, working as an on call emergency surgeon for those in need.
“I take emergency room calls as a general surgeon and take care of patients from the local community that need surgery.” Emil Shakov states.
No matter how busy life may become, it is incredibly important to always take the time to reflect on your blessings, and to use your success to give back. Emil and Rada Shakov are no exception to this, as they always show support for their community and charities that hold a special place in their heart. Giving back is the ultimate form of gratitude, and The Youth Fountain is certainly one to admire for their generous commitment to helping others.
