Clementina Richardson has perfected the art of lashes and brows. With clients including Mary J Blige, Julia Roberts, Naomi Campbell and Kate Capshaw, Richardson has created a cult following for her phenomenal work.

The New York staple studio, Envious Lashes, has officially opened its doors in Miami, and Richardson could not be more excited to share her expertise and love for beauty.

With a focus on customizing a look for each client, she knows the ins and outs on how to style the eyes and take advantage of the clients natural beauty and shape. We caught up with Richardson to talk beauty trends and her new Miami location.

How did you get into the beauty industry, in specific lashes and brows?

I originally began my journey in the beauty industry with nails. In 2007 I was looking to expand my artistry skills and generate more income when I branched off into the lash industry. It was just starting to gain traction and felt like a natural progression for me, I was instantly intrigued and excited about to start a new skill.

It took off quickly and has become something my clients could not live without. I completely fell in love with lash extensions and felt so inspired to hone my craft and learn how to evolve and grow the business. No one was offering customized lash application, so I was consistently booked and had to quickly expand. We opened our NY flagship location in 2019 and then a second Flagship location in Long Island NY soon after.

Envious Lashes has garnered so much success in New York, how did you decide Miami was going to be your next market?

We always had our sights set on Miami. The culture, the beauty, fashion, and vibe has always intrigued me, and it was on our list of locations prior to the pandemic. It took a while to find the perfect location and build the space because of supply chain issues. I wanted to bring my unique lash skills, technique and speed to the Miami area and make Envious Lashes the “go to” spot for all things lash and brow related.

You have worked with some of Hollywood's finest, do you have a dream Miami client?

I love making women of all ages and ethnicities feel empowered and ready to take on the day. It’s a dream come true to help women look and feel their best and elevate their look. As a female entrepreneur, it’s important to surround myself with other like-minded women. We all need to support each other, so I’m excited to style the lashes of all the amazing female-founded brands and businesses in the Miami area!

How have you seen beauty trends change in the last few years?

I’ve noticed people are going for a more for a dramatic look. Not necessarily in length, but people want more voluminous lashes. Fuller lifted darker brows are trending currently also.

Do you see trends differing from state-to-state?

Yes. I find trends differ from state to state in that people are going for dramatic or natural look depending on the cities they live in. However, I also find that most importantly clients gravitate to what fits their lifestyle. All of these factors are taken into consideration during the consultation part prior to your service.
