Faena Theater, inspired by European opera houses and glittering Old Hollywood glam, is showcasing yet another highly acclaimed, captivating cabaret performance RETRO - The Rhythm of the Decades.
“We wanted to create a show that feels like a time machine, seamlessly weaving the energy and essence of each decade into a modern, theatrical spectacle,” shares Anthony Magliano, the founder and creative director of Quixotic. “RETRO isn’t just about nostalgia—it’s about reimagining the past with a bold, contemporary twist, giving classic sounds a new pulse and celebrating the evolution of music in a way only Quixotic can.”
As the ultimate celebration for music throughout the ages, the Motown-inspired musical blends Faena’s cabaret excellence with the energetic and soulfulness of R&B and Miami’s dynamic rhythm. Taking performance-goers on an immersive journey through the musical decades, the show's cast features an incredible ensemble of vocalists, dancers and musicians led by master of ceremonies Rocky Lanes.
With a passion for music history, Lanes shares the songs in RETRO highlight the connections between songs throughout the decades.
“Even as a young person, I can recognize the depth in older songs—the lyrics, the chord progressions, the feeling,” Lanes notes. “My goal is to share music that resonates with everyone, no matter what age, race or background. And that is the music from the RETRO period. A time when people played music to set themselves free.”
From soulful 60s hits and the disco of the 70s to the chart-topping hits of today, each performance is elegantly woven into an exceptional celebration of music.
Delivering passion and flair to the gilded theater, each performance delivers astounding musical nostalgia.
