Wow Dad With These Father's Day Brunch Spots

By Kathy Buccio | June 14, 2018 | Food & Drink National

It’s about that time to celebrate that lucky guy in your life—dear ol’ dad—so why not treat him to a special kind of brunch this Sunday that’ll blow his mind. Whether you choose to serenade him with mariachis or go all out with a pig roast, dad deserves the red carpet treatment. We’ve rounded up some out-of-the-box brunch experiences in South Florida that’ll have papá feeling like a king.

Ball and Chain

Take dad on a nostalgic yet entertaining Cuban adventure this Father’s day at Little Havana’s iconic Ball and Chain. This bustling hotspot, which opens at noon and offers a roast at 2 p.m. on Father's Day, will be pulling out all the stops for dad with a Caja China Roasted Pig Party sponsored by Jim Beam. Dad will surely enjoy the live Cuban Jazz happening at the Pineapple stage starting at noon. Make it a little extra with hand rolled Cuban cigars (there will be a station on site), and he can’t miss out on one of the best mojitos in town. Papa se lo merece! 1513 SW 8th St., Little Havana, 305-643-7820

Malibu Farm Miami Beach

Brewskies and beach will be music to dad’s ears. The newly opened (and highly anticipated) Malibu Farm, known for it’s fresh and organic California-influenced cuisine, will be offering dads a unique beachfront dining experience that will include a ‘Tap Takeover’ in conjunction with Biscayne Bay Brewing Company. The $35 Father’s Day Special will include a flight of Biscayne Bay’s four most popular beers paired with four different appetizers cooked up by Malibu Farm’s Chef Helene Henderson. All of Biscayne Bay Brewing’s Company seven draft beers will be on hand at Malibu Farm all weekend long. 4525 Collins Ave., Miami Beach, 305-674-5579

You’ll hit the jackpot with dad when you treat him to the Hard Rock’s Signature Brunch happening at Kuro Restaurant at $89 per person. Consider it decadent and extravagant but also packing flavor and an array of options. Dad can munch on everything from pork belly to sushi rolls and sashimi (and that’s on the first go around), or go sweet and savory with Belgian waffles and made-to-order omelets. A full raw bar with Alaskan King Crab legs, Oysters, and shrimp, will surely get dad’s attention. We can’t forget the bottomless mimosas, bellinis, Bloody Marys, sangria and spiked lemonade, and unlimited Veuve Cliquot by the glass will also be flowing. Hungry for sweets? The Hard Rock Signature brunch has the most Instagrammable desserts you’ve ever seen. Now that dad's full, it’s time to hit the casino floor and try his luck at those quarter slots. 1 Seminole Way, Fort Lauderdale, 954-327-7625

St. Regis Bal Harbour

Take dad for one of the most sophisticated and talked about brunches happening around South Florida. The St. Regis Bal Harbour Rosé Brunch will blow dad away. Once you’re done ogling at the largest Eiffel Tower made out of macarons, grab a table and indulge on everything from roasted dry aged prime rib, champagne sea salt crusted line caught sea bass, freshly shucked oysters, caviar, and standard brunch favorites. The rosé will be front and center at the Father’s Day brunch, along with free-flowing champagne or wine. There will also be a curated selection of the signature St. Regis cocktail, the Bloody Mary. How about enjoying all this luxury with some live music? From Bossa Nova to boleros, a musical duo will be on hand to set the mood. $95 for adults and $45 for children. 9703 Collins Ave., Bal Halbour, 305-993-3300

Nautilus Cabana Club

Drink champagne and listen to the Cuban beats of Chaing Y su Trova Espirituana at Nautilus’ Rosé Sundays brunch in honor of dad. Pick from a $75 bottomless rosé menu or splurge with a $95 dollar Veuve Cliquot Yellow label menu (all include the Chef’s Brunch Buffett), all while enjoying some delicious brunch entrees including an expansive charcuterie, fresh oysters, mini burgers, hot dogs, chicken and waffles, and a paella that’s a culinary mind trip. The poolside view adds to the South Beach chic vibe (and people watching) that dad will surely enjoy. 1825 Collins Ave., Miami Beach, 305-503-5700

Los Fuegos

Give dad an unforgettable Father’s Day experience with an intimate grilling masterclass at Los Fuegos at Faena Miami Beach, helmed by Chef de Cuisine Cristian Menendez, apprentice to famed grill master Francis Mallman. Guests will have a chance to prepare their own dishes from smoked shrimp a la plancha to beef tenderloin Milanesa using Mallmann’s signature live-cooking technique. Dishes will be paired with wine, and guests will leave with an autographed copy of Mallman’s bestselling cookbook as well as a recipe card. Festivities will continue on Sunday, with the restaurant’s popular Sunday Asado. Dads will be gifted a hand-rolled cigar to enjoy with their meal, which will include a buffet-style brunch prepared by the chef (aka asador), and includes slow-cooked meats, seafood, veggies, and more. Live entertainment seals the deal as you enjoy dining al fresco at one of Miami Beach’s trendiest hotels. 3201 Collins Ave., Miami Beach, 786-655-5610

Cantina La Veinte

Make dad feel like el rey on Father’s Day when you book a reservation at Brickell’s Cantina La Veinte. This is not your basic Mexican brunch. Expect grandiose offerings including Veuve Cliquot champagne bottle offerings starting at $50, but if margaritas are more dad’s speed, they can enjoy unlimited pours at just $20. The Mexican-themed brunch will include authentic breakfast favorites such as chilaquiles and huevos rancheros, homemade enchiladas, cochinita sopes, and a taco station with traditional fillings—think al pastor off the ‘trompo.’ Seating will be open not inside the Art Deco/cantina interior or outside on the waterfront patio. Expect a festive fiesta this Sunday as the restaurant will have a live mariachi band and DJ from 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 pm. $50 a person. 495 Brickell Ave., Brickell, 786-623-6135

Toro Toro

Razzle dazzle dad with a bayside brunch at InterContinental’s Pan-Latin restaurant, Toro Toro. Dad can enjoy an assortment of bbq stations and some of Toro Toro’s signature brunch favorites tortilla Española with chipotle aioli, ceviche shots, Argentinian chorizos and chocolate waffles with Nutella. Expect unlimited pours of brunch libations featuring Bloody Marys and mimosas from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. ($75pp/$37 for kids; kids 5 and under eat free). Dad will also be wowed with an on-site magician, a live band, and a variety of gifts that will be raffled off throughout the brunch. Between the view, the food, and the company, Toro Toro will give dad a Father’s Day he’ll never forget. 100 Chopin Plaza, Miami, 305-372-4710
