South Florida will no longer be devoid of authentic Indian cuisine. Popping up on October 3, A Passage to India will hold court inside The Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove's Bizcaya space. Executive chef Ramesh Kaduru is spearheading the month-long pop-up, serving a rich repertoire of Indian favorites like shrimp and dosa masala and dal makhani.
"Items will be traditional, but will add a twist in using ingredients that are not as common in Indian cuisine, such as kalamata olives and sun-dried tomatoes [in the] dosa or adding coconut in the chutney," explains Kaduru. Expect a multi-sensory experience, with peacock-inspired decor, exquisite tapestries, and live entertainment. "No matter what corner of the restaurant you are in, guests will be immersed in rich culture, all while enjoying an elevated level of service," says Kaduru.
Look out for a cooking demonstration to be offered on October 12 ($35 per person) and a celebration of Diwali, the "festival of lights," just as the pop-up concludes its run.
