Elite Model Gigi Paris on driving stick, stitching pillows and searching for a cheeseburger in paradise.
Where did you grow up?
GIGI PARIS: Coconut Grove.
What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done for a photo shoot?
GP: I did a shoot floating next to a bunch of nurse sharks in the Bahamas. I had to make sure to keep my fingers and toes out of the water so they wouldn’t nibble on me!
What makes you feel sexy?
GP: Driving a stick shift car.
GP: I’ve been embroidering lately. It’s a fun little hobby. I stitch little sayings on T-shirts and hats for friends and family. It’s been a good way to kill time while traveling.
What’s the place you’ve never been but are dying to go to?
GP: I’ve never been to Japan, and it really intrigues me. I would love to see the mix of ancient and modern culture there. And the food! I could eat sushi all day.
What’s your dream collab?
GP: I’ve always wanted to shoot with Dolce & Gabbana. I just love their family-style campaigns with people dancing, laughing and usually eating spaghetti.
If you weren’t a model...
GP: I’d probably follow my mom’s footsteps and be a marine biologist. But it’s never too late. I definitely plan on working with her in the future to promote marine awareness.
What are your beauty secrets?
GP: Skincare is so important in this industry. Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta peel wipes are great for exfoliation. And since I never wore sunscreen as a kid (I should have listened to my mom!), I make sure to always stay protected now with sunscreen. Supergoop’s CC cream is great because it has a nice tint to it, so I don’t feel the need to wear makeup on my free days. And Olaplex is an amazing hair treatment!
GP: I try to practice yoga almost every day. My favorite place is called OM Movement in Coconut Grove. JetSet Pilates is also my go-to.
GP: I love a good cheeseburger! With french fries. But I haven’t found the perfect one in Miami yet, so if you know of one, let me know!
GP: The Standard is my favorite spot to grab a drink and watch the sunset on the water. It’s so dreamy.
Advice to aspiring models?
GP: Always stay true to yourself and do what makes you happy! When you’re happy, there’s nothing more beautiful.
