What’s more festive than a gigantic snow globe in the heart of Miami?

Gucci gathered tastemakers, art revelers and friends of the house to celebrate the brand’s takeover of Sweet Bird North Plaza in Miami Design District during Art Week. The spectacle was anchored by the colossal Boule De Neige, encasing an artistic “storybook” that threads together the enchanting legacy of Gucci around the world in the form of illuminated, small-scale landmarks.

Paying homage to the Italian fashion house’s storied past, the enchanting snow globe was created to encapsulate the early origins of Guccio Gucci. The origin tale begins with Guccio Gucci as a porter at London’s Savoy Hotel, where he admired the elegant luggage of wealthy travelers. This inspiration ultimately materializes in the installation’s centerpiece—a collection of the house's signature trunks and cases bearing the unmissable GG monogram, stacked against miniature reproductions of the house's architectural landmarks from Palazzo della Mercanzia in Florence to Wooster Street in New York. Little festive motifs like snowmen and gingerbread men are freckled throughout the scenography as a nod to the season.

The kick-off celebration gathered celebrities and notables, including Alessandra Ambrosio, Venus Williams, Yara Shahidi, Athena Calderone, Jon George of Rüfüs Du Sol, Brittany Byrd, Dustin Yellin, François Sarközy, Karolina Kurkova, Kitty Ca$h, Martha Graeff, Paola Alberdi, and more. Electric DJ sets were provided by Tiffany Vera and Carlita.

To complement the cocktail party, Gucci collaborated with American artist Corydon Cowansage on a series of Art Wall takeovers throughout the Design District, adapting one of her existing works to create three murals located between the square and Gucci’s women’s boutique. The murals feature biomorphic shapes and a lush palette that create a sense of depth and rhythmic movement.

The holiday installation located between Gucci’s two boutiques in Miami Design District will be on display during select periods through Jan. 7, serving ice cream from local favorite Peel, coffee and baked goods from Italian bakery Rosetta, and weekend coloring activities for children.
