We chatted with model Hannah Ferguson on her idea of romance, what she's most insecure about, and how she loves to stay in shape.
Hannah Ferguson and Ocean Drive's Editor-in-Chief Jared Shapiro.
Heads turned at our Swim Week kick-off jubilee when global swimsuit sensation and Sports Illustrated model, and now Ocean Drive cover star, Hannah Ferguson walked Delano Hotel's whimsical orchid, red carpet in a sultry cutout dress that had attendees watching her every move.
But before the party got started, we caught up with the self-proclaimed "shy" girl to chat with her about her guiltiest pleasures, her fitness secret to perpetually staying in killer shape, and what her idea of a perfect night is.
What do you think about your Ocean Drive cover and shoot?
HANNAH FERGUSON: I love it. When you do a photo shoot and a cover, you don’t really know what’s going to be on it since there's so many shots, so it’s kind of a gamble but I was really happy with it.
What's your food regimen like?
HF: I have a guilty pleasure. It's ice cream, desserts in general.
What's your favorite?
HF: I like chocolate, peanut butter, coffee, mint chocolate chip. All ice cream. I've been better about it, maybe every week and a half.
What’s the most romantic thing a guy can do?
HF: That’s a hard question. I’m from Texas, so I'm used to guys opening doors and doing nice things. Just be genuine and make me laugh, love me and show me you love me.
What's the best day or night that you and your boyfriend will spend together?
HF: Probably at our apartment, watching a movie.
In your Ocean Drive interview, you talk about being 100 percent real, but you believe that if girls were to get plastic surgery that’s okay. Is there any part of your body that you’re insecure about?
HF: I have actually quite a few insecurities. I shouldn't go into detail—I think every girl has these little things that they're really knit-picky about.
So what’s one?
HF: I have a lot I can’t choose one! I guess my third toe is slightly longer than my second. It’s like a centimeter. It’s the little things that you notice that don't matter, right?
So what’s you’re favorite type of exercise?
HF: I love SLT. It's stands for strengthen, lengthen, and tone. It's kind of like Pilates on a reformer but it’s a little bit of cardio and strength training combined. It's so intense that I'll only do it a couple of times a month.
What workout do you dread?
HF: Running. I hate running, but I have to do it a few times a week at least.
What’s something about you that would surprise a lot of people?
HF: I used to be really shy. I don’t know if that’s surprising. I'm left-handed, and a Libra, so I can’t make decisions, and I want other people to be happy and satisfied—it makes me easygoing.
