Ali Mejia: Feminine and Retro-Inspired Pieces
The Co-Founder and Creative Director behind the popular brand, Eberjey, shares the feminine and versatile looks she’s seeing in swimwear this season.
“This summer’s swimwear trends are ultra-feminine (sophisticated pink, ruffles, dainty details), minimalist (seamless solids), and retro-inspired (gingham, polka dots, vintage florals and high-waisted bottoms). There’s a demand for versatility, so we’re seeing a lot of pieces that can be worn in multiple ways and transition easily from beach to city, such as longline bikini tops to pair under summer layers and one-pieces that double as bodysuits. Ties, knots, and rings add a playful twist to this season’s swimsuits.” Eberjey Boutique, 1905 Purdy Ave., 305-763-8839
Christina Pino: 80's Trends
As the Co-Founder of the increasingly popular start-up, ISHINE365, Christina Pino is always on top of the latest swimwear trends for her clientele.
“We are seeing a lot of ribbed fabrics, off the shoulder, one pieces that double up as body suits and we are really starting to see the high legged 80's trend on the rise.” ISHINE365, 7292 NW 1st Ct., 305-756-2005
Sabra Krock: Boho-Chic Details
Co-Owner and Creative Director for the popular swimwear spot, Everything But Water, believes boho-chic with a sea-inspired twist is the way to go this season.
“Off-the-shoulder continues to be a hot trend for summer. We are seeing shoulder-baring styles in both swim and resortwear—the effect is flirty and feminine. Boho-chic is back for summer. We are seeing the always-popular boho prints and crochet pieces (both swim and resortwear) but also new ideas around cowry shell and sea glass embellishments—bigger and brighter tassels and other fun details.” Everything But Water, Dadeland Mall, 305-667-8593
Andrea Velasquez: One Pieces
As owner of the contemporary swimwear shop, Teeny Kini Boutique, Andrea Velasquez knows it's all about the one piece this season.
"This season, I noticed one pieces have made a major comeback, and not just the 70’s vibe of being high cut, designers are reinventing the one piece. I feel this season if you never owned a one piece, this is the year to buy one." Teeny Kini Boutique, 12564 SW 88th St., 786-294-0801
