Wear a masterpiece on your wrist with a digital NFT that will be desired around the world.

Swiss luxury watchmaker Hublot regularly teams with outstanding creatives to produce never-been-done-before pieces, and now, the company takes its innovative style to the Metaverse.

Hublot partners once again with world-renowned Japanese contemporary artist Takashi Murakami to launch two NFTs planned to drop in May of 2022.

The two creative powerhouses collaborated back in 2021 on two limited-edition watches—the Hublot Classic Fusion Takashi Murakami All Black with black diamonds, and the Classic Fusion Takashi Murakami Sapphire Rainbow with polished sapphire crystals—both of which sold out in a matter of days.

Inspired by those successful pieces, the two static NFTs will feature Murkami’s legendary flower with its mischievous smile. This is the iconic theme of Murakami's work and his signature on the Superflat aesthetic movement.

The first NFT will be limited to 216 editions and based on the All Black watch. The second will feature the vibrant colors of the Sapphire Rainbow watch and will be limited to 108 NFTs.

Hublot and Murakami created these digital works mainly for owners of the two limited-edition watches. Watch owners interested in owning the NFT can review it for free in their eWallet on the Aura blockchain. In May, a page will open on the decentralized non-fungible token marketplace where owners may then exchange their NFTs.

The NFTs will first be showcased at the Watches & Wonders event in Geneva, Switzerland, followed by a guerrilla-inspired marketing campaign played out on posters secretly staged around the streets of London and New York, as well as large-scale illuminated projections on major buildings throughout the cities.

This does not mark Murakami’s first foray into the world of NFTs, though his work in the field is still rather new. Hublot likewise celebrated its first step into the Metaverse in 2021.
