This month is the start of music festival season in Miami and III Points is coming in hot.
At III Points, you can expect to “listen to music, connect with others and get inspired, and it all happens over 36 hours,” says Sinopoli. “It’s crazy; it’s a whirlwind; and it’s definitely one of the greatest feelings I’ve ever had in life.”
Sure, you’ve fist-pumped into the early morning at Ultra, twerked until your heart’s content at Rolling Loud, and wore endless amounts of flowers in your hair and sparkles on your face at Coachella (or at least experienced the #NoChella FOMO). There’s no shortage of musical festivals, but III Points is the only one born solely with Miami in its DNA. “We place a lot of importance on local talent. It’s one of our core competencies as a festival,” says co-founder David Sinopoli. “We are dedicated to continuing to further our local scene and giving the biggest stage possible for the best talent in Miami. The more the scene grows, the more III Points will grow.” Twelve’len, Poorgrrrl, Bear and Paperwater are among top local acts you should snag tickets to see.
In addition to the best of the best of the musically inclined in the Magic City, Sinopoli and his team work hard to bring top-notch international headliners (Tyler, the Creator, SZA and A$AP Rocky will take center stage this year). But perhaps what makes the festival so spectacular is the whole underground nightlife vibe. “III Points starts in the early evening, the headliners play till around 1am, and then it morphs into this insane dance party that lasts all night,” explains III Points partner Mark Sudack. “It’s the perfect festival concept for Miami, and it only works because this team has spent years honing Miami nightlife at places like Space and Bardot, and then integrating that ethos into concert promotion. It’s really the best of both worlds, and it’s why III Points is such an amazing and unique experience.” Feb. 15-17, Mana Wynwood, iiipoints.com
