An oceanfront Art Deco hotel in the heart of South Beach, the Kimpton Surfcomber, a fan-favorite during Art Basel, recently completed an extensive renovation of its guest rooms and public areas. The hotel's new design is playful, simple, clean, and earthy, inspired by the romance of the south of France. To achieve an air of freshness and intrigue, this boutique hotel's interior designers have incorporated various materials and textures throughout the hotel, including sleek Calacatta marble, teak molding, and grasscloth.
The hotel is launching new programs to accompany its incredible extensive renovation, including:
Summer at Surf: Miami Beach is a year-round hotspot thanks to its stunning art deco architecture, beautiful beaches, and exciting culinary scene. Not to be overlooked is the vibrant nightlife and diverse calendar of events that can be found throughout the city at any given time. As a result, summer is one of the best times to visit Miami Beach because the city comes to life with exciting events, activities, and programming. The recently renovated Kimpton Surfcomber Hotel is launching its "Summer at Surf" program. This summer, guests and locals alike can enjoy a slew of complementary activities, events, and amenities, including an outdoor paint class with a local artist, a unique outdoor workout experience with a local fitness guru, and an array of luxurious poolside services (smoothie shots, cool down mistings and more!), uber-instagramable house-bike re-creations, and more! Guests traveling with four-legged family members will appreciate the "No Paw Left Behind" package, which includes two daily 30-minute walks. Guests at Surfcomber can enjoy the best of all worlds: sun, surf, sand, and social interaction.
Beat the Gym: All are welcome to join renowned local trainer Tony Thomas in the property's backyard for a strength and conditioning class on the last Sunday of every month. A well-rounded program includes core training, balance, and flexibility.
Secret Smoothie Menu: The hotel has also launched a 'Secret Smoothie Menu' at the Long Board Bar, inspired by the wellness retreat elements in Hulu's hit show, "Nine Perfect Strangers" (minus the illegal drugs, of course). Only those in the know can order from this special menu, which includes a variety of refreshing smoothies laced with a health-boosting ingredient. To view the menu, provide the bartender with the secret password. With the addition of a Fresh Pressed Juice section to the hotel's signature restaurant, The Social Club, guests can now get the proper health kick they need while on vacation.
Also recently reimagined by the hotel are the Vines Cabanas at Surfcomber. This unique outdoor space provides guests with an elevated and private lounging alternative.
The Social Club, the hotel's signature restaurant, and High Tide Beach Bar & Grill, the property's outdoor restaurant and bar nestled between the hotel and the beach, have recently welcomed Executive Chef Javier Carballo. South Beach welcomes a new twist with Chef Carballo's mouthwatering fusion of Latin American and Spanish/Italian influences at the hotel's restaurant, where guests can find the chef's grandmother's classic recipe for empanadas inspired by the flavors of Uruguay.
Completed in mid-2021, the meeting and event spaces at Kimpton Surfcomber are also part of the hotel's extensive renovation. An already popular South Beach wedding location thanks to its expansive "backyard," the property will be able to offer a wide range of new event options. New elopement packages at the hotel include a dedicated planner, a beachside dinner, and flexible outdoor spaces ideal for socially dispersed bridal showers, rehearsal dinners, bachelor/bachelorette parties, and post-wedding brunches for newlyweds.
"Even though 2020 has brought a fair share of challenges, we are thrilled to still be moving forward with this exciting renovation," said Mohan Koka, Kimpton Surfcomber Hotel's General Manager. "We've taken advantage of this year's lower occupancies to fully reimagine our hotel, and the team can't wait to share this new vision of South Beach hospitality with our loyal guests in 2021 and beyond."
To celebrate its renovation, the Kimpton Surfcomber also announced two enticing packages:
WFH Work From Hotel Package: This package is perfect for digital nomads looking for a change of scenery, as it includes complimentary coffee from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the lobby, free B&W printing up to 20 pages long, free WiFi, a mini office kit at check-in (note pad, pens, and staplers), $15 valet parking, a 15% discount at Social Club Restaurant or High Tide Beach Bar & Grill, and 2x IHG reward points (must sign up for promo on IHG Rewards account).

The Kimpton Surfcomber is located at 1717 Collins Ave in the heart of South Beach's Art Deco District, just 200 feet from the Atlantic Ocean.
