If you’re from Miami, you’re familiar with the iconic nightlife destination La Otra. Formerly tucked away into a side street in Brickell, the bar and lounge drew in the masses each night for good vibes surrounded by friends old and new. With irresistible reggaeton and hip-hop beats, great drinks and a seductive crowd, the nightlife destination quickly became a Miami staple. However, La Otra eventually outgrew its space. During the pandemic shutdowns, owners Jason Odio and Marcelo Medina opted to reopen La Otra in an amplified new location in the hip Wynwood neighborhood.

Debuting an upscale bar and lounge, La Otra is nestled off Northeast 24th Street with a discreet entry via a black iron gate in the back. Upon entry, guests will be greeted by the spot’s infectious energy featuring lively music, oversized disco balls and chic decor in an indoor-outdoor space. Surrounded by plush velvet green couches and rich foliage, the atmosphere is both inviting and alluring. New to La Otra is its outdoor porch that offers tropical vibes with lush plants hanging from the ceiling, chesterfield sofas and its signature disco balls, serving as a gathering destination for groups to mingle and imbibe.

Anchoring the indoor and outdoor space is the focal bar, providing an impressive mixology program featuring an emphasis on scotch, tequila and mezcal. Sample through specialty cocktails like the tequila-, lime-and grapefruit-based Lucia and sway to the beats that will transport you to uninhibited fun throughout the night.

“La Otra is unique because there are a variety of experiences you can have here,” says Odio. “The opportunities are endless, and we have created a space where anyone can spend the whole day. You could pop in for a few drinks at happy hour, then be sucked onto the dance floor late at night.”

“At La Otra, you never know who you are going to run into,” says Medina. ”One night you will run into your neighbors and another night you could run into a superstar, such as Oscar Casas, who was here in January. We are excited to welcome locals and celebrities alike.” 55 NE 24th St., Miami, @laotramiami
