Over the past 14 years, Miami-based artist Logan Real (@loganreal) has taken the luxury goods world by storm, showcasing his unique artistry through customizing high-end leather products for celebrity clientele such as Drake and Kendall Jenner. Now, he plans to expand his mastery. From leather goods to home decor, Real is poised to transform the luxury leather industry with unrivaled creativity. We chat with the artist to find out what’s next.

What sparked your interest in the customization of leather goods?

In college, I started painting on T-shirts and sneakers to express my thoughts. This was the first time I started customizing goods, and I knew if I focused on the craft, I could become good at it. Over time, I became fascinated with high-quality leather goods and how they were constructed. I studied brands like Hermès and Moynat to learn how to develop refined leather goods.

Do you think being a selftaught artist made it harder for you to break into the industry?

Absolutely. I think it was very difficult at the beginning of my career to earn customers’ loyalty and respect in the industry. My customization business is basically a tattoo shop for luxury leather goods. I must know what I’m doing for clients to trust me with their high-priced items. Over time, as I worked with respected influencers and designers, people slowly began to trust my services.

Do you have a favorite piece in your collection?

My favorite piece in my collection is the bespoke dog charm! I really enjoy making this item because I’m able to create a one-of-a-kind charm that features my client’s dog portrait, which is handpainted, and also includes hot foil embossed with the dog’s name. Clients put these on their handbag handles, and it becomes a very special piece for them. I also paint cats and horses.

What’s next for your brand?

My direct intentions are to develop an American luxury house—this is one of the reasons I’ve been studying refined French leather craft. My house will include leather goods, home decor and more as the brand progresses. All goods will be made in the USA with the highest level of quality control and purity.
