The concept of evolution, passing culture from one generation to the next and shifting the mold of the status quo, encompasses the bold and groundbreaking SS22 collection by visionary and Louis Vuitton (@louisvuitton) Men’s Artistic Director Virgil Abloh (@virgilabloh). With this theme in mind, the collection is captured in the film Amen Break, which debuted earlier this summer. Landing in Miami just in time for the most anticipated week of the year, Abloh and the iconic fashion house will be taking over the city with two major moments on deck—the first, debuting the SS22 collection with an extraordinarily Miami-esque runway show in an awe-inspiring destination; and second, to present the brand-new Louis Vuitton Men’s boutique—serving as the first stand-alone in the county.

In epic Miami fashion, Louis Vuitton will invite an elite group of guests to embark on an exquisite journey of art and fashion. On Nov. 30 at sunset, show invitees will cruise via speedboat to the Miami Marine Stadium. Upon arrival, guests will be greeted by large barges decorated with custom benches, drawing inspiration from the seating at Paris’ Jardin des Tuileries, amid elegant birch trees. At the center of the action will rest a giant paper airplane, representing one of Abloh’s signature motifs. To make the scene even more spectacular, the grand Marine Stadium will be marked by a vivid red hot air balloon floating across the horizon, allowing viewers from around the city to take note of the history-making moment transpiring.

Combining a beautiful juxtaposition of motifs throughout the collection, the spinoff of Amen Break exemplifies the transformation of ideas and a reflection of culture and subcultures, represented through opposing archetypes like suit versus tracksuit, day job versus night job, man versus woman, made versus ready-made, street versus formal, natural versus processed and more. Artfully blended with Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force collaborations of bold and eye-catching footwear, along with a ready-to-wear and bag collaboration with visual artist Jim Joe, Abloh transports wearers to the bold and beautiful world of Louis Vuitton by showing a transformative interpretation of the newest collection. In addition to the live show, viewers can stream from the Louis Vuitton website, app and social media platforms.

Seamlessly coinciding with the runway show will be the first debut of the Louis Vuitton Men’s boutique located in the Miami Design District on Dec. 1. Keeping in theme, the facade of the stunning new boutique will draw viewers in with a pattern inspired by Diamond Screen, a Louis Vuitton Objets Nomades by Marcel Wanders Studio. Here, the emblematic Louis Vuitton monogram will be reinterpreted, paying tribute to Miami modernist architectural style and inviting shoppers to come explore the intoxicating world of the maison’s latest collections. Creating a captivating and immersive experience, LV commissioned local Miami artist Michelle Weinberg to add a local flair, who brings a wonderful wall covering pattern that gives the boutique a unique identity, combined with handpainted elevator artwork by Captain Casual.

Led by the dynamic forces of the inimitable maison’s spirit and the artistic ingenuity of Abloh, the LV art week journey is poised to be one the city will be reminiscing about for years to come.
