Since launching in fall 2020, Marc Jacobs’ Heaven has been a plethora of vibrant, graphic pieces for any and all genders. Each collection takes inspiration from a piece of pop culture, and the latest taps into the beautiful angst of Sofia Coppola’s iconic 1999 debut The Virgin Suicides.

Coppola is a longtime collaborator and friend of Marc Jacobs, and this line draws from ‘90s subculture tropes and recontextualizes them for today’s youth. As always, Heaven creates non-gendered clothing as a gateway for a new generation to join the Marc Jacobs universe.

Released on Oct. 10 to coincide with World Mental Health Day, Heaven by Marc Jacobs’ third season consists of collectible tees, sweatshirts, hoodies, jacket and skirt sets, dresses, jewelry, handbags, and home goods ranging from $25 to $375.

Handbags and tops feature stills of lead actress Kirsten Dunst, and a black hoodie features movie quotes. The items marry the movie’s angst-ridden, poetic exploration of adolescence with the grungy, edgy style so iconic to Marc Jacobs. An exhibition with memorabilia from the film is on exclusive display at the Heaven Fairfax store in Los Angeles.

Heaven constantly innovates with culturally referential collaborations and pieces celebrating the arts. The line previously partnered with contemporary American painter Katherine Bernhardt, utilizing works from her Garfield and E.T. painting series.

Heaven has also collaborated with Nathalie Nguyen of Happy.99, ANCCO, Julian Consuegra of Stray Rats, Cynthia Lu of Cactus Plant Flea Market, Elliot Shields and Chris Cadaver.

Recent collaborations with footwear brands Nodaleto and Dr. Martens have been equally successful, the latter being a nod to ‘90s trends and edgy core that popularized Marc Jacobs.

Heaven by Marc Jacobs Just Like Life Baby Tee

In alignment with World Mental Health Day, Marc Jacobs partnered with The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, & Transgender Community Center, an LGBTQ- focused organization that provides community resources such as recovery and wellness programs, economic advancement initiatives, cultural events, and youth support.

LGBTQ youth face significant disparities in suicide risk compared to their straight and cisgender peers, and the Center is a safe meeting place that provides a support system for those in need while connecting them to life-saving resources. $18 of every Just Like Life Baby Tee will benefit this organization.
