In Hebrew, the word “Mazeh” translates directly to “what is it?” Enticing diners to find out the answer, New York-based hospitality group GPG debuts Mazeh in Miami, a Mediterranean-inspired Middle Eastern eatery serving up high-end tapas and good vibes. GPG is renowned for its New York City restaurants Lamalo and Nur, and the new eatery comes with a killer reputation behind it, one that thrives off its authenticity and vibrant flavors.
The new spot will be located in downtown Miami, with dishes designed for sharing during group dinners. From dips and spreads to freshbaked breads, guests are encouraged to explore the fresh cuisine from the other side of the world in a setting that is both familial and refined.
Located above Mazeh on the 12th-floor deck is the group’s fellow concept Float, an elevated outdoor lounge that serves as the ideal location to enjoy drinks and light fare while taking in the unbeatable Miami views. Surrounded by art installations from downtown Miami’s thriving art scene, live music and decadent libations, Float skillfully combines American tiki culture with the flavors of the Middle East, presenting modern Middle Eastern tiki cocktails.
“We are thrilled to bring our cuisine and style of hospitality to Miami. Florida’s climate is, in many ways, similar to the Middle East, which grants us access to high-quality produce, perfect for crafting our dishes, which follow the Middle East’s philosophy of letting the ingredients shine,” says owner Gadi Peleg. “We have found local farmers who grow outstanding vegetables, as well as local fishermen who provide beautiful fresh catches. The combination of the two enables us to craft our dishes in Miami at the highest quality. We strongly believe that our cuisine and style of casual yet refined hospitality will be a perfect fit for this beautiful, vibrant city. We are excited for our first adventure outside of New York, and Miami feels the perfect next step for our group.”
