Plastic surgery is an ever-evolving field with many names and faces in the game. Florida-based Dr. Kevin Mosca of Mosca Plastic Surgery, board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon, is known to many as “Dr. Boca Raton.” (@drbocaraton on social media platforms). Mosca believes in using his versatile, specialized skills along with his deep level of knowledge and experience in medicine to better people's lives.
Mosca focuses on breast and body contouring in his practice. Many patients are those seeking breast aesthetic reconstruction after a “botched breast augmentation/lift.” Mosca is well applauded for his skills in this area, he also is highly sought after for regular and restorative breast augmentations. He specializes in dual-plane breast augmentations. Dual-plane breast augmentation is a procedure that differs from the traditional behind the muscle implant placement. In dual-plane augmentation, the upper part of an implant is placed under or slightly behind the pectoral muscle, and the lower portion of the implant sits directly under the breast tissue. This is a method that achieves results that are very proportionate and look quite natural.
Mosca is also a provider of high-definition liposuction, referred to as SAFE liposuction, a multistep process of body contouring. SAFE stands for Separation, Aspiration, and Fat Equalization. The process minimizes injury to the surrounding tissues. It is a safe and highly effective technique that Mosca is highly skilled at and is quite popular on Instagram for this service. SAFE Liposuction works best for patients who have pockets of unwanted fat that have not responded to dieting and exercise.
Separate - Fat is emulsified and broken up before removal to reduce overall appearance and trauma to the area.
Aspirate - Fat is removed from targeted areas
Fat Equalization - The remaining fat that is left in an area, is grazed over or “sanded down” by going back over the areas without suction to even out all areas. This prevents contour irregularities such as lumpiness.
Born in rural New Jersey, a one-stoplight town called West Milford, Mosca grew up attending public schools. He graduated from Rutgers University Honors College in 2004. Concurrently earning a bachelor's degree from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, he then spent two years working in medical research, developing a digital brain analysis tool to study the cells involved in Alzheimer's disease through the Center For Neuroscience Research at Rutgers University. He then pursued a medical degree in Philadelphia PA, earning his doctorate of osteopathy in 2010. Mosca spent six years working in general surgery along with plastic and reconstructive surgery in residency at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. A combined program of general surgery and plastic and reconstructive surgery, Mosca is one of the first few people ever to do this program. Now, he runs his practice in Fort Lauderdale serving clients from all over the world. He strives to work one on one with his patients; patient care is always the number one priority.
“I pride myself that I do all my surgeries, I see my patients each time in follow up, I don't have assistants that do the surgery for me, it's all me. I like to be there through every step of the patient’s process from start to finish and make sure that they are happy and ensure that they are doing the right things by me and by themselves to get good quality results. I meet every patient, go over a very individualized kind of plan with them. No two patients are the same to me, everybody is different. I tailor my work to listening to what they want. ”
He has also been featured on popularbeings.com where he has been called one of the most compassionate plastic surgeons who truly care for their patients on an individual level.
