Miami Beach is known to be a culinary playground, with every style of cuisine present across the city. Just opened, Mehzcla will join the Latin American culinary scene while paying homage to Miami Beach’s vast history.

Located within The Balfour Hotel, Mehzcla is excited to share a variety of Latin recipes for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Miami-native, Executive Chef, Chef Steven Acosta is a leader in the kitchen, bringing a unique perspective and all-inclusive menu including sharable starters, small plates, sandwiches, salads and desserts. “I am a mezcla myself: a mixture of my training and my homegrown roots,” said Chef Acosta. “Just like Miami, Mehzcla is one big melting pot of Latin cuisine. I’ve worked with chefs from all over the world, and now I get to apply that multicultural, global influence from my heritage to the restaurant.”

The menu stays true to Miami’s local flavors while incorporating many elements of Latin culture. Some menu highlights include the Avocado Tomato Ensalada, Whole Fried Snapper, Ahi Tuna Tacos and Medianoche Croquetas. As a Miami local, Chef Acosta nodded to the vast Cuban culture in the city with the Medianoche Croquetas dish, which was inspired by the classic Cuban Sandwich with swiss cheese, cotto ham, pickles, mustard aioli and lime zest.

The cocktail menu was prepared thoughtfully with twists on some classic drinks. Highlights include the South Beach Mule, Spiced Smoked Margarita, Balfour Batida and Spicy Boi Summer. If looking to dine for breakfast, Mehzcla’s early morning menu with dishes such as the Detox Bowl and Croissant French Toast Casserole, truly making itself a diverse menu.

The interior of the restaurant continues to explore Latin American culture, with the building's historic original marble fireplace, terrazzo flooring and overall aura.

The Balfour Hotel just recently opened its doors and has become a destination for tourists and locals alike. Mehzcla has now brought the hotel to the next level with amazing alfresco dining, a culturally driven menu and a phenomenal dining experience.

Mehzcla is located at 350 Ocean Drive and is officially open seven days a week from 7:30 a.m. until 10 p.m.
