Cornelius Tulloch's site-specific installation "Bougainvillea: An Exploration of Adornment" in Faena Art's Project Room explores contemporary Caribbean cultural aesthetics. Tulloch reimagines modern Caribbean culture through the lens of dancehall, Jamaican junkanoo, and masquerade in this exhibition. This new photographic series experiments with black visual aesthetics, creating an environment that spills over from the photographs into the design elements created specifically for the Faena Art Project Room. Jamaican culture has always regarded fashion as a valued form of expression. This series invites the viewer into the artist's unique relationship with culture to rethink how to tell their own stories and reflect a contemporary lifestyle through their clothing. The exhibition "Bougainvillea: An Exploration of Adornment" will be on display from July 15 to September 3, 2022.
