Ah, social distancing—a time when wearing sweatpants 24/7 is totally acceptable and happy hour is well, any hour.
Another silver lining to our new normal? Virtual photography. That’s right, photographers are swapping shoots IRL for photos snapped over FaceTime, Zoom and Skype. The result? Pure magic.
“A friend of mine showed me what a photographer was doing during quarantine in Italy,” says Genesis Bonilla of @genstreetstyle. “We agreed to do a similar shoot and that's when I thought I should continue this series. It has kept me creative during these difficult times and provided an escape.”
Bonilla reached out to models about her idea and the rest is virtual high-fashion history. “The positive side is that I have been able to connect with people I follow, but who I have never shot before because they don't live in Miami,” she says. Here, Bonilla shares her virtual photo series with Ocean Drive. Scroll down for the beautiful of L.A. and Miami, all shot on Bonilla's computer and smartphone.
“Camille is my friend who first told me about this idea. We've known each other for some time but finally met and had a fun first shoot. I really loved how her red hair popped out, and the bucket hat was a nice touch.”
