Michael’s Genuine has been a cornerstone of Miami’s Design District for nearly two decades, redefining the city’s dining scene with its farm-to-table philosophy. Now, the beloved eatery by James Beard Award-winning chef Michael Schwartz is raising a glass to 18 incredible years with a one-night-only celebration on Wednesday, March 12.
Opening in the Miami Design District in 2007, Michael’s Genuine spearheaded a culinary wave for Miami’s dining scene, earning accolades, including a Bib Gourmand by Michelin Guide.
“It’s truly an accomplishment, the dining scene has changed, but our philosophy and core are still the same…MG is all about sourcing the best ingredients in an unpretentious environment and that never goes out of style,” Schwartz states.” “Hopefully we’ll be able to set trends that lead the way to what it’s important to dining.”
In honor of this celebratory evening, guests will enjoy a complimentary glass of Champagne before diving into a special throwback menu for two, spotlighting some of the restaurant’s most beloved dishes from its early days. Expect fan favorites like Chile Chicken Wings, Roasted Sweet Onion stuffed with ground lamb and apricots and the iconic Milk Chocolate Cremoso Espresso Parfait.
Cocktails will also take center stage with fan favorites, such as the Bulletproof Manhattan made with Jim Beam black bourbon, cherry-rosemary and fresh lemon and Cabarete Spritz—a dedicated mix of Aperol, St. Germain, fresh watermelon juice, sparkling wine, soda and orange bitters—both priced at $10 a pour. A New Orleans-style brass band will set the mood, channeling the lively energy of the restaurant’s famed Wednesday jazz nights. And no birthday bash is complete without cake, so pastry chef Marlena Bella is serving up a celebratory confection topped with a sparkler for the perfect sweet finale.
