Being a mom is hard, but being a single mom is even harder. Michelle Dempsey-Multack (@themichelledempsey) is on a mission to help single moms learn how to co-parent and move on.
Dempsey-Multack, a well-respected certified divorce coach, has used her personal experience and knowledge to help women all around the world. With a social media presence of over 149K followers, a top podcast and now an author, Dempsey-Multack is changing the conversation about divorce and separation.
She is excited to launch her first book, published by Simon and Schuster, “Moms Moving On: Real Life Advice of Conquering Divorce, Co-Parenting Through Conflict, and Becoming Your Best Self,” on March 15.
“I was the product of a very ugly divorce, very high conflict,” Dempsey-Multack expressed. “And so when I got divorced, I was like, oh my God, how did I get here? I've done all this work to try to understand why I got to this place and a lot of it had to do with me and the parts of my childhood. I hadn't healed yet.”
Dempsey-Multack explained the goal of the book as a twofold experience, “It's to help any mom who's going through this, realize that she can get through it and create a really great freaking life, and also to help teach her that she needs to be more patient and give herself grace.” While she knows it is a challenging process, with the proper tools and resources, the outcome can, and will be great.
Through both her book and podcast, Dempsey-Multack has tapped into her vast network to bring on other expert opinions in the field. “I try to keep it really informative and educational, and for that, we've brought on some of the best psychologists and lawyers,” she continued "I've had Laura Wasser on the podcast who represents Kim Kardashian and then I've had the housewives like The Housewives of New Jersey.”
When she isn’t busy writing her book or filming her podcast, she is often talking one-on-one to her followers on social media or taking their questions and talking to all her followers. Aside from her social media, she has created a free membership community for women to engage with one another and help each other through the healing process. Talking about her platform, she explained “They're asking each other questions, it's like a forum for support and advice. We keep it really positive, we don't encourage any ex-bashing because I don't find that productive.”
Now, with a book, podcast and a strong community in hand, Dempsey-Multack has truly created a special place for women going through a hard time.
