A MIAMIAN WITH A DEEP LOVE AND APPRECIATION FOR MAKING MUSIC AND EXPRESSING EMOTIONS THROUGH THE MEDIUM, WE CHAT WITH SOLO ARTIST MILUHSKA (@MILUHSKA) AND MEMBER OF FEMALE TRIO ROUJEEE TUNES (@ROUJEEETUNES) ON HER PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE GOALS.

What sparked your love and passion for music?
I’ve always been drawn to music since I was a little girl. My mom says I used to mumble all the Disney princess songs before I could even talk or walk. What made me turn to it now were some traumatic life experiences that completely changed my mentality—life is too short to not give it a try.
Who has influenced you in your career?
This is a tough one. I’ve always had great appreciation for so many different artists and genres, but it constantly changes. What I am influenced by now is not what I was influenced by six months ago. I think what has truly inspired my career are the people around me, the community of rising and starving artists here in Miami, my best and worst moments, a few incredible concerts and, more than anything, the aspirations that 5-year-old me always had deep inside of her.

What are some of the most memorable moments in your career thus far?
There have been so many. Every single one has taught me so much and has made me so proud. Roujeee’s first time playing at Space Miami with all of our friends showing up and making it so special is one. Getting the chance to collaborate and share the studio with artists I have the utmost respect for, learning from them firsthand, has been extremely eyeopening. Getting invited by Redbull to sing for the first time in front of a crowd was such an experience, getting that first taste of what it’s like to put on a live show, and let me tell you, it’s no joke. And last but not least, my recent solo morning debut at Space’s terrace.

Tell us about what you have coming up, both as a solo artist and also for Roujeee Tunes, for the rest of 2022.
This year has been so crazy from the get-go. I have some exciting unreleased collaborations with amazing talent from Israel, Venezuela, Ecuador, Colombia and, of course, Miami. I will also be coming out with a visual and musical project that will be premiering on Sept. 22 at Tigre Studio. Then, there’s my live performance at III Points on the first day and Roujeee playing on the second day of the festival; this is actually an emotional one for the three of us, as we’ve been going since 2014 and we’re honored to be part of it this year. We also have a surprise dropping before the end of the year!
What is a bucket list career goal for you?
As of right now, to release my first album.
How do you want people to enjoy listening to your music?
I want people to listen to my music wherever and however they decide. My ultimate intention is to make people feel something. Whether that’s making them laugh, cry, dance, reminisce or even reinvent a memory. At home, on a road trip or at a party. The music I am creating now is for every setting. There’s a ballad to make you get in your feelings; there’s a groovy song to make you get up and dance; there’s an old-school hip-hop-infused track to make you laugh and not take yourself so seriously; there’s also a self-reflection song that anyone could interpret as they want. I am proud of how my writing has developed and improved throughout this project, and the lyrics are definitely something I want people to pay attention to.
What is your favorite part of living in Miami?
Miami is home. I love how it is shaping into one of the hottest cities in the world, but my favorite element is the hustle that goes down here. And the best part about that is that there’s a feeling of a mutual desire in the community to see everybody win. Especially being someone who was raised in the city, it really gives a sense that you’re part of a big family.
