MSC Cruises has officially announced its newest flagship, MSC Seashore. The team is gearing up to host a naming ceremony for their new ship in November before it sets sail for the first time.
This new flagship is an exciting edition for the MSC company with nearly 140,000 square feet of outdoor space, surrounded by picture-perfect ocean views from every angle, state-of-the-art entertainment and so much more.

The Switzerland-based luxury cruise line is hosting a private naming event kicking off on November 17, where guests will then be whisked away to the company’s enchanting private island, Ocean Cay. Attendees will get a special first look at their new ship, MSC Seashore, before MSC kicks off its season on November 20.
The new ship features eight decks with five specialty restaurants. There is also a new lounge, Cabaret Rouge, spanning two decks with panoramic views of the ocean. Six beautiful swimming pools are also on the ship, with a large indoor pool and interactive waterpark. The ship also contains a large casino with 12 tables and 182 slot machines. The MSC Seashore's design honors New York City, with many public areas and venue names inspired after the city. Time Square, Central Park, 5th Avenue, Tribeca and Manhattan, are all names used throughout the ship.
Hollywood cinema star, Sophia Loren, will serve as the guest host for the night, naming her 16th MSC ship. Guests will enjoy a variety of food, cocktails and activities and music. There will also be a gala dinner with live entertainment and more.
Once a mining island, Ocean Cary Marine Reserve is now a travel destination for MSC’s cruise ships. The island’s ecosystem works harmoniously with the MSC, as they continue their efforts to save endangered coral reefs and implement other conservation programs to educate the public about problems the ocean faces. The naming of MSC Seashore marks the formal inauguration of Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, as this is the first boat to be named on the Bahamian island.
“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to launch our newest ship in Miami and celebrate its naming in Ocean Cay, as a further demonstration of our commitment to and investment in the U.S. market,” said President of MSC Cruises USA, Ruben Rodriguez.
Rodriguez goes on to relay his excitement about their work towards tapping into US markets, bringing refined swiss living to the states.
“Not only have we expanded our footprint in Florida by now offering two homeports with PortMiami and Port Canaveral to make our cruises even more accessible, but we’re also elevating the U.S. guest experience by bringing some of our best and most innovative ships for our North American guests. It is also no coincidence that Ocean Cay will be central to our celebrations next month. We can’t wait for more guests to see firsthand what makes the island so special," exclaimed Rodriguez.
