Miami-based Jackie Dalius has set out to change the music industry and carve a way for female entrepreneurs. Dalius is excited to launch her music discovery app, MuzicSwipe in January of 2022.
MuzicSwipe’s mission is to disrupt the music industry and allow artists to promote their music to consumers, both new and old, through a user-friendly way such as the swiping technology. The swiping technology has proved itself time and time again through dating apps, so there is no doubt that users will easily adapt to this method.
We had the opportunity to talk with Dalius, the CEO and founder of MuzicSwipe to learn all about her take on the music industry, her goals for MuzicSwipe and what it’s like being a female entrepreneur.

When did your passion for music begin?
I have always been passionate about the music and entertainment industry. Throughout my time at the University of Southern California, I was the co-creator and talent booker for an entertainment podcast/radio show broadcasted weekly on KABC Los Angeles called “Behind The Mic”, through this show, I was always working with artists both in television and music like Andy Grammer, MAX, George Lopez, Alisha Marie, Cierra Ramirez, Laila Ali and more.
I also created my own PR company “WECREW” and frequently worked with up-and-coming musical talent. Through that, I became an artist manager. My love for the entertainment industry cultivated the grounds for deep-rooted passion for the music industry and discovering rising artists.
How did the idea of MuzicSwipe come to light?
My passion has always been deeper than just listening to popular mainstream music; I love finding new, rising artists that may not have the platform they deserve. During the pandemic, I had a lot of time to think about this topic because there wasn’t really anything out there to help rising artists connect with a new audience and offer them a place to grow and take part in events, etc. With the help of my Dad, Eric Dalius, and my brother, Brad Dalius, we ideated MuzicSwipe. MuzicSwipe connects rising artists to music lovers. The music discovery platform allows fans to swipe to discover new artists and music and ultimately match with the one they find fits their discovery needs.
What is your biggest goal for MuzicSwipe?
My biggest goal for MuzicSwipe is for it to be everyone's go-to app for discovering new music. I hope that people will start exploring new genres and artists and expanding their music interests and taste through swiping that we offer on MuzicSwipe to pair music lovers with new artists.
From a macro perspective, another goal for MuzicSwipe would be to have a presence at major music or entertainment-related events like The GRAMMY’s and festivals such as, Coachella and SXSW.
Does MuzicSwipe work alongside any streaming partners?
We are currently working with key partners to create solutions for all streaming services, our goal is to expand every MuzicSwipe artist's reach and we understand that fans listen to music across a vast range of platforms and services, it is our goal to ultimately cater for them all.
With the Metaverse and music NFT’s at the forefront of the industry right now, do you see MuzicSwipe adapting to this in the future?
I do, yes! The NFT space and Metaverse is growing and evolving every single day, the opportunity in this space is relatively new to most people which is the exciting part, there is so much space for innovation. One of my goals for 2022 is to dive deeper into the Metaverse and NFTs on a personal and professional level so we can keep adapting to the industry and empower artists with the tools they need to more easily step into this new territory.
I believe NFT’s give creators more control and ownership over their work, adding more opportunity for the creators themselves to profit. Maybe MuzicSwipe will collaborate with an artist on an album, single or new digital asset released as an NFT, who knows! I’m not sure what that would look like for us right now but it’s exciting to think about the possibilities.
Who is your biggest inspiration?
My Dad has always been my biggest inspiration. I always looked up to him as he’s always gone after his goals successfully and overcome any obstacle in front of him. For as long as I can remember he encouraged me to chase my dreams and work hard to achieve them. I am so happy I was raised by him to never take “no” for an answer and to grow MuzicSwipe with him by my side.
What is one piece of advice you would give to other female entrepreneurs?
My advice to female entrepreneurs is that no dream is too big no matter what other people are telling you. At times you might be the only woman at the table, but we live in a time where gender bias is no longer tolerated and we will have our voices heard. I am fortunate and thrilled that there is an increasing number of female CEOs and leaders young women can look up to!
