“People are going to meet a whole new Nicky. I’m in a spot right now where I’m so happy with my life and what’s going on. People will feel that when they see me onstage,” reggaeton superstar Nicky Jam (@nickyjam) shares as we discuss his highly anticipated album release, Infinity, and subsequent 2022 tour.
After creating the perfect compilation of music during the lockdown and also taking the time to work out, take care of his health and, in response, become the latest and greatest version of himself, the star could not be more ready to return to the stage. After receiving a sneak peek of the album, I can wholeheartedly agree—Infinity is everything you love and associate with Nicky’s music with a modern-day spunk and twist that makes it irresistible to dance along with—the ultimate vibe for any occasion.

“Throughout the lockdown, I really took time to focus on my music, and I wanted to go back to the essence of what people know and love about Nicky but also bring a sound that people haven’t yet heard,” he notes. “Music has changed a lot since 2015/2016 when I last put out music. People don’t want as many romantic ballads. So what I did with these songs is make the beats sexier and a bit edgier. I feel like the end result was old-school Nicky Jam but modern at the same time.”
If there’s one thing you should know about Nicky, it’s that he’s always ready to take on the next challenge. In anticipation of the album release, he’s anxiously awaiting to share his latest artistry with the world and return to the stage to embark on his North American tour.
“I’m so ready to have this come out and have people listen to it. It feels awesome to be returning to live music. I recently did my first show since the lockdown started in Vegas, and it was the best thing in the world. You feel the love of the people, and you feel that people need it too. It’s amazing,” he shares.

The Infinity tour will undoubtedly give fans the Nicky they’ve long been craving, delivering killer beats and an unstoppable energy.
“I never like to set expectations going into a tour because I just want to have fun, do what I love, and have people enjoy along with me. I perform for my people. I think the fans will feel good and reminisce on so many songs that they love from my previous albums but also experience the new version of me and music to go along with it,” he reveals.
The timing aligns perfectly with Nicky 2.0—an element that is very important to him to share with his fans. As an artist, he wants to take his fans along on his journey and experience all he is putting out into the world.

“There’s moments in life when you’re not feeling yourself, when you’re not doing what you want to do. You look back on your life and you’re like, ‘Damn, what was I doing?’ I’m on a whole different vibe right now, training so much, playing basketball. Quarantine made me take care of my health so much that I’ve realized when you care for your physical health, your mental health comes along with it, and you give off a different energy. Everything is better.”
