Miami’s foodie-centric Wynwood district continues to elevate its culinary repertoire with the much-anticipated opening of PASTA, a beloved modern Italian eatery by Peruvian chefs and husband-and-wife team Juan Manuel Umbert and Janice Buraschi. Following the eatery’s success in Lima, the couple now brings their celebrated approach to traditional Italian cuisine stateside, merging rich Italian flavors with nuanced influences from their diverse culinary backgrounds.
Set within an intimate, 2,400-square-foot space, PASTA Wynwood seats 77 guests and features an open kitchen, allowing guests to feel a part of the magic inside. PASTA’s menu is a harmonious blend of time-honored recipes and innovative creations. Starters like Razor Clams with salsa verde and housemade ‘nduja are crafted to reflect Miami’s nautical freshness, and dishes like the veal sweetbread with Peruvian potatoes and aceto di Modena underscore the quality and creativity that made their Lima restaurant a resounding hit. The signature housemade stracciatella with sourdough bread is a must upon each visit—simply done, yet exquisitely executed.
At the heart of PASTA lies their fresh, homemade pasta offerings. Traditionalists will revel in the comforting pici cacio e pepe and the rich pappardelle with 12-hour braised beef cheek ragú. Those with more daring palates may opt for the fettuccine with housemade ‘nduja, mascarpone, and lime or the agnolotti di funghi, which boasts a technique chef Umbert honed in New York: sauce encapsulated inside the pasta for an explosion of flavor with every bite.

The dessert menu brings the experience home with crave-able indulgences such as housemade gelati, a Sicilian-inspired pistachio di Bronte tart, and coffee crema volteada—a Peruvian take on flan with a coffee-caramel infusion. Complementing these dishes is a stellar beverage program featuring a curated selection of classic Italian wines and cocktails, which, of course, keep on theme with expertly crafted negronis and spritzes.
Set in a rustic yet modern space in Wynwood, encapsulating brick, wood and metal to create a warm, inviting ambiance, arriving at PASTA is both familiar and exciting—and endless amounts of deliciousness await inside. 124 NW 28th St. Miami,@pasta.wynwood
