Phil Collins Sold Miami Mansion

New beginnings are coming in the air tonight. After only one month on the market, Phil Collins' Miami Beach mansion has been nabbed by a new owner.

According to Architectural Digest, Collins originally bought the home for $33 million about five years ago. The beautiful bay-front estate, which previously belonged to fellow musician Jennifer Lopez, was listed for $40 million, although a final sale price has not been confirmed. Jill Hertzberg of the Jill Zeder Group at Coldwell Banker represented Collins in the still-active sale.

The 10,769-square-foot mansion boasts 11 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms. Built in the 1920s, the home underwent several renovations by the preceding owner Mark Gainor, from whom Collins bought the house. Gainor purchased the home from J. Lopez in 2005 for $13.9 million. Renovations included the addition of a 1,000-square-foot walk-in closet in the master bedroom, a roof replacement and re-configuration of the second-floor rooms, according to the a 2015 report by the Wall Street Journal.

The Spanish-style abode features a white stone facade which stands in beautiful contrast to the lush, green surroundings and bright blue ocean. The home also includes an elevator, an interior courtyard with a 6,000-gallon koi pond, and a 60-foot swimming pool with a spa tub. The back yard is lined with Florida palms, creating a relaxing, tropical ambience. No doubt the new owner will enjoy taking in the 184-foot waterfront view, overlooking the Biscayne Bay from the home's private dock which can hold several boats.

The sale was not as breezy as the location. Collins filed a lawsuit against his ex-wife and her new husband in the midst of it all , alleging unlawful detainer after demanding they move out of the property. According to Orianne, Collins verbally promised her 50 percent ownership interest in the house, which the singer bought via his LLC. Collins’ also alleged that Orianne blocked Hertzberg from showing the property last year. Court records show that a settlement has been reached.
