Patek Phillipe, Audemars Piguet, Richard Mille and Rolex are among the watches up for grabs.
We sat down with President of Kodner Galleries and certified gemologist Russ Kodner to talk cars, watches, jewelry, fine art and everything luxury auction-related.

Tell us a little bit about Kodner Galleries and the type of collectibles you buy, sell, appraise, consign, etc.
Established in 1906, Kodner Galleries is a fifth-generation family business and the oldest full-service auction gallery in Florida. With bi-weekly auctions from our Dania Beach, Florida block-long location, Kodner offers wide ranging items including fine estate jewelry, luxury timepieces, couture handbags, fine art & sculpture, modern design home furnishings, silver, collectibles and even rare collector cars. We also offer professional gemological and appraisal services for jewelry, art and estate needs.
What is the most common demographic of clients you see?
Kodner bidder demographics vary according to the mix of items in any particular auction. The exotic car and luxury timepiece auction appeals to a successful male audience mid 30-70 years old.
Who have been some of your most high-profile clients?
Kodner recently hosted an auction for Ms. Orianne Collins including property from the home in Miami Beach she shared with Phil Collins. More recently we auctioned the estate of Mama Elsa Patton of the Real Housewives of Miami.
What is normally the key driver in a purchase decision?
Price, rarity and condition are primary drivers in an auction bidding decision.

What makes this upcoming Exotic Cars & Luxury Timepieces auction unique? Our exotic car auction on Nov. 6 represents a curated mix of rare models and American classics collected over twenty years. The collection of twenty-four cars, three motorcycles, a mini car and two vintage gas pumps is housed in a custom warehouse gallery in Boca where the cars are on display as works of art.
Among this wide-ranging collection are rare exotic examples including a 1992 Jaguar XJ220 that was once the fastest car in the world and a 2002 Aston Martin Vanquish made famous by the movie 007. Highlighting the collection is a 1965 Shelby AC Cobra. In the domestic models are five vintage Corvettes including a 1954 roadster and the prized 1963 split rear window Sting Ray, the same model driven by Bruce Wayne in The Batman. Among more modern examples is a 2005 Ford GT with 148 original miles, the model driven by Nicholas Cage in Gone in 60 Seconds.
As a complement to the car collection, the auction also includes an outstanding collection of twenty-four of the finest luxury men’s watches including Patek Philippe, Richard Mille, Audemars Piguet, J.P. Journe, Rolex and more.
What are your favorite items in the auction and why? The auction has so many iconic cars, it is impossible to pick just one. The 1965 Shelby AC Cobra (Lot12) is hard to come by and is in fact the last car to join the collection. I can picture myself taking it for a spin wearing the Rolex Daytona (Lot 48).

Can people bid online and over the phone as well as at the auction? Bidding is available by phone, absentee or online. Pre-registration and a bid deposit is required to bid and to schedule a personal preview of the cars. Contact the gallery at 954.925.2550 (M-F 10-4pm) or [email protected] for details.
How many times a year does Kodner typically host auctions and are they in different locations? Kodner Galleries conducts bi-weekly auctions throughout the year. The auctions are available at Kodner.com for about 10 days prior to the auction date. The auctions are held on Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. (ET) in our Dania Beach, Florida gallery. Bidding is available by phone, absentee or online.
What's the process for owners to submit their items for acceptance in the auction, i.e. the qualification process? Kodner is always accepting quality consignments of estate jewelry, watches, gold, coins, fine art & sculpture, sterling silver, quality home furnishings, crystal, fine china, designer handbags, sports trading cards and much more. Our expert team can be contacted via phone at 954.925.2550 or [email protected].
What percentage increase in sales price does provenance typically add to the value of the car/watch? Provenance is generally more important in the context of fine art and can have a significant bearing on sales price. The watches Kodner is offering are accompanied by manufacturers’ paperwork establishing authenticity. The cars are identified by VIN numbers and manufacturer numbers for verification. We invite any potential bidder to examine the cars personally or by a professional mechanic/consultant.
