How did your art career begin?
Back in 2018, I fell in love with home decor and wanted to make my home reflect who I am by surrounding myself with things that make me smile. So, while combining my passion for art and candy, I created my first custom-designed acrylic shell crafted with Dubble Bubble gum and printed ‘In Case of Emergency Break Glass’ across the front in hot pink lettering. When my closest friends and family saw the piece, they asked if I could make one for them, and at that moment By RobynBlair was born.
What inspires your work?
My artwork is inspired by indulgence, nostalgia, color and anything that makes me smile.
What artists do you look up to?
I had the honor of working with Peter Tunney, who’s insanely creative and talented. He gave me a piece of art and wrote ‘the time is always now’ on the back, which inspired me to make my first piece of art. Additionally, I’ve always admired Jimmy Paintz and his work, which strongly reflects his positive outlook on life.

Is there any particular moment that is memorable to you?
Harry Winston once commissioned me to make artwork to display alongside their Candy Collection. Traveling to Los Angeles to host the launch of the collection at their Rodeo Drive location, I was surrounded by diamonds, all things sweet and my artwork being showcased all over the store. This was a pinch-me moment!
As an artist, why did you choose Miami to call home? What about the city speaks to you and your work?
Over the last few years, Miami has become a hub for innovation and culture. I want my artwork to make people feel cheerful and optimistic, and since living in Miami, I am constantly influenced by the evolving progressiveness the city offers.
