You Can Now Order Sanguich's Famous Cubano In Coral Gables
|May 29, 2024|Food & Drink,
Sanguich De Miami, the iconic Cuban sandwich shop on Calle Ocho, is expanding its empire to Coral Gables in its largest location yet, to be revealed on June 7. Since its beginnings as a small pop-up at an art festival, Sanguich de Miami has garnered a cult-following and a MICHELIN guide Bib Gourmand accolade for three consecutive years.
The Coral Gables flagship restaurant unveils 2,100 square feet with a capacity of up to 75 guests. Guests can convene at the bar or dining room inside, or people-watch on family-style benches on the patio. The restaurant's interior design draws inspiration from Cuban, Spanish and Mediterranean cultures, honoring the heritage of co-owners Daniel Figueredo and Rosa Romero. A signature encaustic tile flooring serves as the foundation, complemented by custom crafted brass trimmings and hand-painted menus.
Not to worry, the new location will feature the same tried-and-true menu favorites such as the Cubano (slow-cooked pork butt marinated in a garlic and spice blend) and other classic offerings like Pan con Lechon, Pan con Croqueta and El Pan con Bistec. Pair with refreshing signature "batidos" inspired by Cuban flavors like trigo, mamey and banana, and don't forget about the decadent dessert that riffs on a flan and cake by playing with textures and flavors. Much to the excitement of diehard fans, a brand-new breakfast menu is reported to enter the picture in the near future, as will a forthcoming Downtown Miami location at Bayside Marketplace.
