The annual South Beach Seafood Festival will be kicking off its festivities on October 22 with award-winning cuisine, including some of Miami's top chefs.
This Miami festival is a culinary showcase, celebrating all the wonderful restaurants and chefs Miami has to offer. The festival is taking place just in time to kick off stone crab season, an autumnal Florida delicacy. There will also be a complimentary open bar and live DJ throughout the festival.
Kosushi Miami is one of the featured guests, led by Michelin Star Award-winning Chef George Koshoji. This restaurant is known for its fresh seafood and sushi, combining flavors to create a multicultural experience for the senses.
Kosushi will be represented by Executive Sushi Chef Soyo Lida during the VIP Chef Showdown at the Goya Culinary Pavilion on Friday, October 22 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Additionally, on October 23rd, Kosushi will be available at the festival’s Restaurant Café.
Wynwood’s Uchi Miami will also be in attendance at the festival, led by James Beard Award-winner Chef Tyson Cole and Hai Hospitality. Uchi prides itself on their nontraditional take on Japanese cuisine and they plan to showcase their craft at this year’s chef showdown, with Chef Christian Canecio taking the lead. They will be squaring off against reigning champion, Chef Chad of Papa’s Raw Bar during the Oyster Battle.
Other activities such as culinary demonstrations will be offered throughout the week, including a demo by Chef Alex Martinez of Miami Beach’s Café Americano on Saturday, October 23. Café Americano is known for its inventive comfort food, offering something for everyone to enjoy.
The festival has received much critical acclaim, landing its place on Forbes' list as one of the best things to do in fall and rated by USA Today as top five specialty food festivals in the country.
