Spend Your Summer Nights at These Soflo Rooftops

By Kathy Buccio | July 17, 2018 | Food & Drink

If you needed another excuse to take in Miami skylines and South Florida’s blazing heat, here’s another one—the hottest rooftops in town. Sip mojitos, take a bite out of some ridiculously delicious tostones, dress up in your hottest summer outfit yet and check out these trendy rooftop bars from Wynwood to South Beach that’ll have you screaming, Caliente!

The Regent Rooftop

regentrooftop.jpg

One of Miami’s top cocktails bars has now expanded outdoors. The Regent Rooftop delivers offers a refreshing cocktail menu that’s up to bar with its famous counterpart, The Regent Cocktail Club. Located on the fourth floor of the Gale Hotel, the rooftop gives a pretty Instagrammable view of the South Beach Art Deco architecture below. Expect bites from Dolce Italian, and a live DJ playing tunes from 4-8pm during their Dolce Vita Party (drink specials available). Grab a SoBe Punch (Bacardi coconut, pineapple juice, orange juice) and don’t miss the sunset. 1690 Collins Ave, 305.673.0199

Juvia

When you hear about an indoor/outdoor restaurant located inside a parking garage structure, it might make you do a double take; but if it happens to be Juvia, the James Beard Foundation winner for Outstanding Restaurant design, you dress to the nines and make a reservation at one of the hottest rooftops, not the beach. A vertical garden and simple light wood furniture serve as understudies to the most insane views of Miami Beach and the Atlantic Ocean. The terrace also has a retractable roof that doubles as an umbrella and allows for outdoor festivities all year round. Order the Zen Garden (high west double rye, Aperol, Lillet rose, coconut syrup, egg white, lemon, lime). The view calls for it. 1111 Lincoln Road, 305.763.8272

Watr at the 1 Rooftop

The only oceanfront rooftop in all of South Beach, the 1 Hotel Rooftop is an epic getaway 18 floors above the sea. Think of it as a zen oasis overflowing with chic vibes and eco-conscious coolness, the 1 Hotel Rooftop is the perfect place to spend those special Miami nights. Kick off your evening poolside with a Pink Toucan (Hibiscus Infused Light Rum, Creme de Noyaux, Coconut Water, Lemon, La Croix Key Lime) and pair it with some tuna crudo or hamachi. There’s nothing sexier. 2341 Collins Ave, 305.604.6580

The Vista Bar Atton Brickell

Brickell’s got a spankin’ new rooftop and it comes with sweeping views of Biscayne Bay and the Brickell Skyline. The Vista Bar at Atton Brickell is a nice addition to Brickell’s cultural and professional playground, making it a go-to spot for cocktails under the stars. Enjoy 50% off all menu items (like the Atton Chicken Wings and the Spanish Empanadas) during the bar’s daily happy hour from 5-8pm. Maybe you want to enjoy the infinity edge pool with friends by booking a poolside cabana where you can order all the Pisco Sours your heart desires. Soak up the sun or just unwind after a long workday. Anything is possible at the Vista Pool Bar. 1500 SW 1st Ave, 786.600.2600

Sugar at East

Whip out those smartphones and get a bird’s eye view of one of the most stunning Miami skyline views out there. Sugar at East, located on the hotel’s 40th floor, is a lush garden escape that transports you to a vibrant and sceney Asian-inspired space, making you forget that you’re actually in one of the city's most bustling neighborhoods. Grab a table right by the rooftop’s edge if you really want to soak in the view, or a cozy couch in the jungle-like grounds, and treat yourself to their tasty Asian tapas menu that includes Tuna Tartare, Pork Belly Buns, satay, and rolls like the Sugar roll (shrimp tempura topped with seared salmon). The cocktails take center stage with top of the line mixologists ready to deliver. Order the Sacred Lotus (tamarind infused Belvedere vodka, St. Germain, prosecco, seasonal fruits). You’ll thank us later. 788 Brickell Plaza, 786.805.4655

No. 3 Social

Wynwood’s first and only rooftop bar and lounge is quickly becoming the latest hotspot in Miami’s dining and nightlife scene. Sceney without being pretentious, No. 3 Social’s laid-back approach is what keeps patrons coming. The menu celebrates street foods from around the world with a dash of Floridian flavor under the helm of Chef Norman Van Aken. Come for the cocktails and stay for the music, as the rooftop bar is prime real estate to listen to techno sounds, lounge beats, and even global and Latin house during their weekly installations. Speaking of drinks, try the Beauty Secret, made with organic vodka, collagen, lemon, egg white, and blueberry. Pop in for the daily Social Hour where guests can get $5 beers, wine and bites like oysters, conch fritters, and veggie nachos. If you don’t like the heat, we got you covered. Literally. 50 NW 24th Street, 305.748.4540

Filling Station Lofts

The Filling Stations Loft isn’t your ordinary rooftop bar. Located in the trendy Arts and Entertainment District, the rooftop is located in a residential building but manages to draw a legion of loyal followers and crowds to it’s monthly live music events under the cafe lights, aptly called, Rooftop Unplugged. You can catch acts such as America’s Got Talent contestant, Yoli Mayor, and French fusion favorite, The French Horn Collective. Expect a pop-up bar on performance night and a ticket to the hottest hidden gem in town. 1657 North Miami Ave, 305.901.5900

La Côte

Get a taste of the Mediterranean when you visit Fontainebleau’s open-air rooftop restaurant and bar, La Côte. Take in the breathtaking oceanside views at this luxury hotspot where the rosé flows (Domaine Sainte Foy La Côte, a rosé hand-picked for La Côte) and the French Riviera cuisine only make it that much more fabulous. Try the beach club’s Blueberry Mojito, made with Stolichnaya Blueberry, blueberries, mint, sugar and prosecco. People watching is free of charge. 4441 Collins Ave, 305.674.4710

Area 31

One of the OGs of rooftops in downtown Miami, Area 31 in the Epic Hotel is still kicking and still a favorite amongst both locals and tourists. It’s Miami nightlife at it’s finest, drawing in a happy hour crowd that extends well into the evenings with live DJ and overflowing bubbly. Another panoramic view of the bay and Miami River that can’t be missed, Area 31 takes it up a notch with innovative cocktails like the Flagami Fizz (Green Chartreuse, Bombay, Cocchi Americano Rosa, Grapefruit Sherbet, Champagne top off) and the Hialeah Hustle (Vanilla Bean Infused Belvedere, Lemon, Ginger, Peychauds, Muddled Blackberry). Try some of their seafood-centric menu, like the ceviche mixto and the Caribbean Snapper with lemon cream. 270 Biscayne Blvd Way, 305.424.5234

Bloom Rooftop Bar

What was once the Pawn Broker at the Langford hotel, has now had a second coming as Bloom Rooftop Bar. Giving off an NYC vibe, the rooftop’s patio has some pretty awesome city views (skyscrapers and beyond) to take in while sipping on craft cocktails and listening to music. Take advantage of daily deals like Ladies Night every Thursday (2x1 before midnight and open bar after), or let loose on Sunday Funday with a special Bloom brunch. Have a Mojito. It’s so Miami. 121 SE 1st Street, 857.600.2203

Altitude Pool Deck

Not only is the SLS Brickell one of the city’s best urban oasis, it also happens to have one of the hottest pool parties happening on its roof deck. Altitude Pool Deck at the SLS Brickell is the spot to beat the heat this summer. Whether you’re popping by for a cocktail or renting a poolside cabana for the day, you’ll definitely enjoy some relaxation and party ambiance simultaneously! Quench your third with the La Rosa (Absolut vodka, rose water, and strawberries) cocktail, and if coconut is your thing, then try the L Coco (fresh coconut juice, pineapple Malibu rum). The most luxurious digs come served an unforgettable view of Downtown Miami and Biscayne Bay. 1300 South Miami Ave, 305.239.1300

You can’t miss the Shrimp Croquettes or the Deck Wings with a coconut and pineapple glaze. You know what’s even better? A rooftop brunch that offers live music and bottomless mimosas and bloody marys. It’s the kind of place you go for one drink, but never really leave. And did we mention the view? It’s #selfiegoals. 1600 Collins Ave, 305.695.7400
