The Miami Design District will soon become a location beyond luxury shopping and dining. The area is excited to unveil its newest project, a state-of-the-art workspace.

The Ursa is set to be located in the heart of the Design District, standing 15-stories high. The building will transform the Miami neighborhood, with its design by Arquitectonica and interior art and furniture by Daniel Arsham.

The project is a joint venture between Dacra, L Catterton Real Estate and Brookfield Properties, with the focus on a modern workspace, set to revolutionize work environments.

Craig Robins, Chief Executive Officer and President of Dacra expressed, “We are thrilled to be bringing The Ursa to the Miami Design District. Integrating state-of-the-art workspaces into the neighborhood has always been a part of our plan. People want to work in centers of creativity, culture, and commerce; and the District really provides the type of environment where innovation can take flight.”

The building will house ten floors of approximately 180,000 square feet of office space and two retail spaces on the ground floor. The group has partnered with Miami Design District Associates (MDDA) on the leasing of the building.

Each floor will be fully equipped with a private balcony and beautiful floor-to-ceiling windows, providing tenants with 360-degree views of the city and neighborhood. With a rooftop garden deck, taking over indoor and outdoor space, landscaping and greenery are at the forefront of the building. Technology will also be fully integrated into the building, alongside 24/7 security and property management services.

“The building will mark the western gateway to the Miami Design District in a design that combines Miami’s outdoor living with a boutique office building. The District not only has one of the most impressive collections of art and architecture but also is lined with a stunning native landscape palette throughout. The tree-lined streets of the neighborhood served as the inspiration for bringing the landscape into the building as a series of stepped planters that wrap around the building alongside terraces for the floor-to-ceiling glass office spaces. We are excited to work with Dacra and the team to bring the project to the Design District,” explained Raymond Fort, Senior Associate at Arquitectonica.

With design and culture as a focal point of the neighborhood, The Ursa will continue the Design District’s aura through its museum-quality art and mature architecture. Arsham has created site-specific artwork, which will be incorporated into the design of the building, drawing inspiration from Greek and Roman Antiquity.

Construction is slated to be completed in the fall of 2024, with tenants moving in by winter.

This is a monumental step forward for the Design District, as The Ursa will help shape the neighborhood, while also being an amazing addition to Miami’s workplace experience.
