Of the archival installations on display is the gold, platinum, diamond and sapphire-adorned Fleur de Mer clip. Manufactured in Jean Schlumberger’s Paris workshop in 1956, the clip was selected by British-American actress Elizabeth Taylor in 1965. According to The Schlumberger Salon journal records, the 18K plat diamond and sapphire clip and ‘flower’ ear clips were admired before being purchased a month later. Taylor was later photographed wearing the brooch during several public appearances.

Additional archival pieces include the Seahorse Clip, designed by Jean Schlumberger in 1962, which features gold, diamonds, peridots and a single ruby. Remaining a beloved design encapsulating elegance and whimsy, the seahorse merges sophistication with a playful spirit. Also on view are the Star Fish Clip, designed in 1947; a Flower Clip, created in 1964, accompanied by a detachable jeweled leaf; the stunning Fleur de Mer clip, which remained one of Jean Schlumber’s favorite subject; and the Fish Clip, designed in 1958 and manufactured from 1981 to 1991.
