The Faena embodies Miami’s true culture, from art, entertainment, wellness and so much more. The newest addition to the Faena’s offerings include the opening of Red Room exhibition by Tony Kelly. The fine art photographer is widely known for his work with vibrant colors featuring cinematic, stylish, theatrical and sexy subjects.
Life Guard, 2021
The Red Room will live within the Faena Art Project Room, from February 5 through the beginning of April.
All of the photographs featured in the exhibition play on the lifestyle and style of the Faena Miami Beach, through Kelly’s creative outlook and lens.
The Good Life, 2021
Kelly shared a glimpse of the project through Instagram where he expressed, “Proud to reveal what is my favorite image of year so far! From my Faena fine art series this photograph is titled “The Good Life” and was two years in making. Inspired by a gentleman who one evening whilst sitting in the courtyard of the hotel asked me if one day I would photograph his glamorous wife to which I jokingly responded that I would if she could hang from the balcony of their room! A few seconds later I thought to myself hey that's a good idea and started to visualize how we could make this happen. June this year it finally all came together.”
The end result of the comprehensive project is a beautiful, artistic magazine featuring over 40 works by Kelly. The debut Red Room exhibition features a selection of the most vibrant images from the project. The Faena Art Project Room will be transformed for the exhibition, where the photos will be placed within a red surrounding, which will highlight the vast colorways across his work.
Cocktail Hour, 2021
The Red Room exhibition includes 15 photographs and limited-edition prints, which will be available to purchase.
The Faena Miami Beach and Faena Art Project Room have collaborated on this exciting project where proceeds of the Red Room will benefit Faena Art. The organization is a nonprofit which helps showcase innovative and immersive creative practices. In addition, Faena Art aims to house and produce free open to the public post-disciplinary and time-based experiences.
Room Service, 2021
Kelly is commonly referred to as a modern-day Helmut Newton, with photographs filled with colors and action-packed imagery. There is no doubt that his creative exploration of Miami Beach and the Faena truly encompass all things Magic City, with a splash of sexy.
