Tyler Herro is a household name in Miami and beyond, as the Miami HEAT’s shooting guard. Herro, number 14 on the court, has become an NBA sensation at the age of 21. With his respected fanbase and passion for style, Herro alongside the Miami HEAT have already produced another one-of-a-kind clothing capsule under the team's, Court Culture.
Court Culture and Herro have been collaborating since his first season with the team, but his meaning of Miami and style have drastically evolved. “During Tyler’s rookie season, the collection featured more 'fun' elements like embroidery, tie-dye and even a classic baby photo. And although his style has become more mature, this new collection still showcases all the Herro hallmarks, including vintage washes, oversized silhouettes and those personal touches, of course,” explained Nicole Perez, Miami HEAT Retail Marketing’s Senior Manager.

Herro and the Miami HEAT’s creative team worked tirelessly on this collection to ensure it incorporates exactly what the two envisioned. Jose Garcia, Miami HEAT Graphic Designer expressed, “After looking at what we created for Tyler’s first collection, we knew we wanted a more mature feel that would parallel his growth on and off the court—mirroring the versatility in his style, while remaining rooted in team and city. And while each design has its own narrative, they all complement one other to tell a bigger story about Tyler’s values. In that sense, the creative process had a snowball effect to it, with one idea leading to another.”
With an emphasis on bringing Herro’s style into this collection, Herro described his personal style as expressive. “When I’m deciding on what I’m going to wear for the day or to a game, I usually go based off of how I’m feeling in that moment,” said Herro. Staying true to Herro’s personal style, Garcia explained, “We kept the designs dark and the shirt silhouettes light to give the collection some uniformity, but ultimately, it was Tyler’s approach to fashion that informed a lot of our choices. One day, he’s outfitted in something very dark and minimalist, and the next, he’s wearing a custom look in bright colors. So, in that sense, we wanted to be flexible in our execution while staying true to the essence of his style.”
The collection features five t-shirts and two sweat shorts which are all unisex. All of the pieces in the collection have very intricate designs, which symbol something greater.
“We started with the idea of a ripped net—an ode to the worn-out rims you see in community parks around Miami, where every young baller gets their start. Then it got me thinking about all that goes on in Tyler’s mind during a game, all the internal dialogue. I kept refining that idea until we arrived on the 'Basketskull' tee—a twist on the HEAT’s 'ball and flame' logo.” Garcia continued, “ I thought of it as an x-ray view into a player’s mind, forever focused on the game. I kept things similarly abstract for the 'Unwritten Poetry' tee. Not all poetry is written, and basketball is poetry in motion, happening so fast that we sometimes miss the beauty of it. By using a sequence of pictures – each shot within milliseconds of each other – I was able to 'stop time' and capture the poetry in Tyler’s technique.”
Denoting that every little detail in this collection was thoroughly thought out to mimic both Herro’s sense of style and mentality on the court. Herro also noted that his favorite item in the collection is, “Herro’s Inferno,” in which he explained that the torch is representative of the journey, and when he continues to keep the torch lit his journey will continue.
This collection launched on December 10 and has already garnered much love from the Miami and basketball community. Herro could not be more excited to see this vision come to life as he said, “I had the chance to collaborate on designing seven pieces for this collection and really come up with some great work. The most fulfilling part about collaborating on a clothing line is that it’s a reflection of me and my style. Having the creative control to showcase my ideas is a top-tier feeling.”
We know that this is just the beginning of an amazing partnership the Miami HEAT and its players have with one another, and when asking Perez what to expect next she said, “I can’t give too much away, but all things vintage are definitely driving our creative inspiration this season!”
