Calling all sneakerheads and music lovers. You’re going to want to mark your calendars for Friday, March 4, because that’s when Grammy-nominated rapper and Gen Z fashion icon Tyler, the Creator and Converse are set to release their collaborative Golf Wang x Converse Chuck 70 Python sneaker.
While it’s not the first collaboration between the two brands, this collection does offer a one-of-a-kind style that can fit into any wardrobe. The low-top sneakers come in blue topaz and pink Dogwood color swatches, while the all-over print resembles snake skin and comes paired with fresh, white laces.
Golf Wang is Tyler, the Creator’s very-own fashion line. Established back in 2011, it continues to wow fans and fashion critics alike with its funky and colorful take on preppy cuts and styles. It’s a unique take on American streetwear, crafted totally in line with what Tyler, the Creator wears on a daily basis.
The rapper and producer initially began reinterpreting the Converse One Star in the summer of 2017 when he first introduced his “flower” design to the classic. Back in July of 2021, Tyler, the Creator partnered with the legendary sneaker brand again on the Converse x Golf Wang le FLEUR collection. This collection offered a variety of Converse styles, with sneakers decked out in faux alligator scales, shoes that were furry to the touch, and styles in just about every color imaginable.
The le FLEUR collection was a huge success, and the shoes continue to sell out whenever they’re offered. No doubt this new set from Tyler and Converse will do the same.
This release could not have been timed more perfectly, as Tyler, the Creator is currently nominated for the Best Rap Album and Melodic Rap Performance awards at the 64th annual Grammys. His latest album Call Me If You Get Lost already won the award for Album of the Year at the BET Hip Hop Awards in 2021.
The release date for the Chuck 70 Python collection is set for Friday, March 4, 2022. Orders may be placed online via Golf Wang’s website or Converse. See more pictures of the sneakers and learn more about the collaboration via Highsnobiety.
