I scream, you scream, we all scream because Van Leeuwen Ice Cream is opening its first Florida location. The beloved brand, known for its French-style, made-from-scratch dairy and vegan ice creams, will bring its flavorful menu to Miami Beach on March 20.
“Nearly 20 years ago, we started serving ice cream from a truck on the streets of New York City, and now we’re thrilled to bring Van Leeuwen to Florida with the opening of our Miami Beach location,” says Ben Van Leeuwen, co-founder and CEO. “The energy, hustle and grit of Miami make its connection to New York undeniable, and its passion for great food makes it a natural fit for us. We can’t wait to start scooping and welcome everyone in for good ice cream that makes you feel good.”
Expanding to over 70 physical shops since its yellow scoop truck days in New York City, Van Leeuwen is driven by the mission to make ice cream with good ingredients, offering ultra-creamy treats with innovative flavors and names. From its award-winning Vanilla Bean to the limited edition collaboration Espresso (yes, think Sabrina Carpenter), Van Leeuwen continues to push the boundaries of traditional dairy ice cream and vegan creations.
To celebrate the official grand opening on March 20, Van Leeuwen will offer $1 scoops from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Serving up sweetness, Van Leeuwen is partnering with Fireman Derek’s Bake Shop for an exclusive, limited-time Key Lime Pie Sundae collaboration, available only at the Miami Beach location.
“As a Miami native, I’m excited to share this classic flavor with the world,” says Derek Kaplan, owner of Fireman Derek’s Bake Shop, “Van Leeuwen’s commitment to quality makes it a perfect fit.”
In addition to this exclusive sundae collaboration, The Miami Beach ice cream shop will debut the brand’s newest ice cream flavor, Key Lime Pie, and offer new seasonal spring flavors, including White Chocolate Raspberry Brownie, Blue Jasmine Passionfruit Swirl and Mango Sticky Rice. The shop will also sell fan-favorite signature flavors such as BIGFACE Coffee Affogato, Honeycomb, Brown Sugar Cookie Dough Brownie, Pistachio, Marionberry Cheesecake and Earl Grey Tea.
For dessert lovers, the scoop shop will also serve sundaes, milkshakes, housemade waffle cones, ice cream sandwiches and pints-to-go. 1600 Collins Ave., Miami Beach @vanleeuwenicecream
