Admit it: You’ve already started planning your Art Basel wardrobe. And why not? The party schedule for the early-December conclave promises to be jam-packed, so now is the time to lock in the must-see pieces. Among the Resort collections arriving in stores this month, Versace is one we peg as Basel-friendly, both for its bold color palette and its artistic leanings. Donatella dubbed the collection Rockmantic, mixing one of the codes of the house, the Greek key symbol, with other stark, modernist graphics, noting she was inspired by the Memphis design movement that rose to prominence in Milan during the 1980s. Copper hardware adds to the tactile, multimedia feel of the pieces, while the bright color palette is both on-trend for Resort and tailor-made for a Miami audience that, Basel or otherwise, loves nothing more than a brilliant idea.
