Palm Beach’s hospitality hot streak continues with winter’s most anticipated official opening.

Glow-ups are not just for Palm Beach’s coiffed society women. They’re also queued up for the many island landmarks being brilliantly renovated and reimagined with force and fervor.
This winter, Oetker Collection, known for globe-spanning properties like Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes, Jumby Bay Island in Antigua and Le Bristol Paris, prepares to debut its first state-side hotel, The Vineta. British billionaire brothers David and Simon Reuben purchased the Vineta—formerly known as The Chesterfield—in 2022 before teaming up with the German-based Oetker Collection.

“We are excited to work together on The Vineta Hotel in Palm Beach— a place very close to my and my family’s heart,” says Jamie Reuben, son of David Reuben and a principal in the brothers’ development firm.
The Vineta may be the island’s newest jewel, but the hotel’s name is familiar to those who know the island’s genealogy. It originally opened in 1926 as the Lido-Venice. Two years later, the pale-pink spot was christened The Vineta and remained so for half a century. It briefly morphed into an 80’s condo experiment but returned to its room-service roots in 1989, rebranded as The Chesterfield Hotel.

A stirring example of the island’s Mediterranean Revival architecture, today’s Vineta Hotel has managed to stay true to its heritage while refreshing its interior.
“The Vineta is a shining example of bringing up a building to 21st century standards while keeping the character and usage intact,” says Anne Fairfax, AIA, RIBA, respected architect and a Palm Beach Landmark Preservation Commission member.
Steps from buzzy Worth Avenue, The Vineta Hotel features 41 rooms, a new lounge, an outdoor courtyard and a statement bar. The property’s signature restaurant, Coco, mixes Palm Beach-inspired cuisine alongside fan favorites from Oetker’s South of France restaurants, including Louroc and Giovanni’s. Under the masterful eye of Tino Zervudachi, an interior designer based in Paris, the hotel has melded clean lines and a fresh color palette with a relaxed, beachy atmosphere. “My aim was to create a real new venue for visitors and residents alike – taking extra care to enhance the exterior dining spaces both at the pool and the courtyard – by establishing a cosmopolitan look that blends European design cues with the destination’s unmistakable aesthetic,” says Zervudachi.

As the new year heralds the island’s return to the media spotlight—with more visitors and stakeholders than ever—the energy is palpable. New and old hotels, local and international shops and familiar and brand-new restaurants are brilliantly colliding in a cultural constellation that proves Palm Beach is indeed all grown (and glowed) up. 363 Cocoanut Row, Palm Beach,oetkercollection.com
