Food Truck Yoso Sushi To Opens Brick-And-Morter Location In Upper Buena Vista
|April 14, 2024|
Upper Buena Vista, Miami’s idyllic, open-air retail and culinary destination, welcomes Yoso Sushi. Previously a sought-after food truck destination in the Design District, Yoso Sushi’s brick-and-mortar location opened this week. The Japanese restaurant by Chef Deniz Aktug and Chef Khristian Lara will feature a selection of hand-crafted sushi, poke bowls, as well as omakase offerings.
Yoso Sushi’s unique cuisine is inspired by the flavors of Japan, while incorporating influences from Chef Deniz’s and Chef Khris’s travels across the globe. Guests can look forward to unique dishes such as the signature Spicy Tuna Tartar, made with homemade yuzu kosho (spicy yuzu sauce), fresh Beef Dumplings, made in-house daily and served with truffle ponzu sauce, and a selection of unique sushi rolls and sushi “burritos.” Guests can also look forward to an omakase experience launching later this spring.
Nestled in Upper Buena Vista’s bohemian oasis, the 20-seat restaurant transports guests to Japan with interior seating inspired by Japanese sushi bars. The wrap-around sushi counter is replete with wooden accents, warm lighting and earthy tones for a retro feel.
Chef Deniz and Chef Khris have been a part of Miami’s culinary scene for 7 years. They were chefs at Zuma Miami before opening Yoso Sushi as a food truck in the Design District, and later Yoso Ramen in Brickell. They are most passionate about encouraging the next generation of female chefs, and strive to continuously innovate and raise the bar when it comes to creating culinary experiences.
Yoso Sushi joins Upper Buena Vista’s collection of mindful micro-boutiques and indie artisan shops, restaurants and cafes for eclectic eats and cocktails, and unique wellness experiences.
